We always feel like we are coming home when we visit the Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. It was spring break, oh my goodness, yes, tons of kids the first few days! Early and mid-April might not be the best time to visit! We had mixed rain and sunshine! We had a wonderful room in building 8, room 8510 and 8509, great views! We were above the trees so had a great view of the islands from our lanais. Locals said the whales were there, but we had white caps and high winds most of the time so couldn't really see any whales from our lanai like we have before! Lunch at the pool bar was ho hum, mostly burgers, not my fav. The pool hut staff is awesome as usual, so is the front desk staff! One of the guests was telling us they wished the concierge would also share information about free things to do locally as well, so I shared some ideas with them about things for the kids to enjoy!

Room Tip: Can't go wrong. Rooms in the south towers don't have balconies. But they are larger than...

My wife and celebrated our 30th anniversary in Hawaii--our first trip there. A friend sold us his time share for a week at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North. WOW! We've traveled four continents and stayed in some nice places but this one puts them to shame. I guess there is nothing that I didn't like about the property. Our view of the courtyard and pools, with the ocean and the island of Lanai on the horizon, were picturesque. Despite all the guests and activity, the spacious, royally equipped one-bedroom suite was remarkably quiet. Our bathroom with the jacuzzi, shower room, and enclosed toilet nook was ENORMOUS and elegant. The large balcony had entrances from both the bedroom and the living room. Two flat screen TVs and the free wi-fi all helped us feel more than comfortable. Hope to return some day!

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms open directly into the courtyard and could be entered by anyone passing by...

My family of five stayed for ten days over Christmas 2011 and we had a wonderful time. Our two bedroom villa was spacious and had a good sized common area with a television and DVD player which we used for family movie nights more than once. We also had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer which made staying for that length of time a lot easier.

We had a great view of the beach and ocean from each of the three lanais off our rooms. We faced the pirate pool but it never got loud enough to be a nuisance.

We ate at Puhelu a few times, including Christmas dinner and each time the service and food were really wonderful. My kids loved the menu as well (which is pretty near impossible). The Ocean pool bar and grill was also good, though sometimes it could be very slow. We did the crab feed one evening and were totally stuffed and the view was always lovely. Tried to eat at the Pailolo Bar & Grill three times. It was either closed, closing or telling us they were closing in a few minutes so not serving food.

The beach is gorgeous with pillowy soft sand. We were out every single day and saw plenty of people out snorkeling as well. The pools were all quite lovely as well.

The only thing that keeps this from being a five star review is the fact that THREE separate times over our 10 day visit someone would show up at our door and demand we check out (or once our keycards stopped working), even though each and every time we'd show the original reservation that had been paid in full months before we arrived that was for 10 days. Each and every time we had to go to the lobby, re show our credit card, re check in and get new key cards issued. That was no fun.

This isn't a place where you can get room service at 2 am. But it's just a quick trip to the Safeway in town.

Beautiful setting. Great, spacious rooms, for the most part the service was excellent - we'd definitely be back for more.

Spent spring break week here with wife and two teenage sons. The resort is spectacular and its staff attentive. Our room was located on fifth floor of building two. The room provided gorgeous ocean, sunset, garden and mountain views.

We will return!!!

Room Tip: Floors five and six offer best views.

This is a very nice property! But if you are honeymooning not the best choice. Lots of young kids, families, traveling together with grandparents etc. The rooms are top notch, comfortable, and well stocked (kitchens etc.). The snorkeling was the best right outside the resort! The pools are really fun for the kids. Pirate ship, water volleyball, slide, basketball, and lagoon like. The only thing I didn't like about it was it seemed the Northern Side of Kaanapali has more trade winds, and sometimes that was very uncomfortable. We noticed that Southern Kaanapali was more protected and had more pleasant weather. So, we drove to that beach when the wind got to be too much. Would definately stay there again, and less crowded than the other Kaanapali locations!

Room Tip: I prefer bottom floors, the lanais are bigger, more private and taking elevators to/from your rooms...

we are a married couple in our 40's. no children. this is not the place to visit if you don't want kids around. they were everywhere.
room was nice. not exceptionally clean. they did not come around to clean or replace towels daily. only once in the six days we were there.
room was called "island view" but was more like partial ocean view. view was beautiful!
i did like having washer/dryer in our room!
food & drink at restaurants was delicious.
staff that we came in contact with was friendly.

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas is primarily a timeshare location, not a five star resort hotel. Therefore, room service is not 24/7, you won't get turndown service, and there won't be bottled water in your room. But you will have a kitchen and laundry, you can take the shuttle to the grocery store, and you are on the ocean in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. The beds are super comfortable -- the same as the Westin Hotels. The showers are large. The towels are fluffy. The pools are nice, and the beach is wide and has a reef right offshore. During the day there are multiple eating locations for your food and beverage pleasure. They have a very nice spa. They have 2 nice tennis courts. This is a great place for families to stay since you can eat in the room, spread out, and get the sand out of the bathing suits. Most rooms have some kind of view of the ocean. Only building 4 on the south side is less likely to have any ocean view. If you are so enamored by this place that you want to own there, there are many weeks on the resale market for sale. This is a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: If you are staying as a hotel guest, as for a room in buildings 2 or 3 on the south side or the fron...
