Fun for people watching and a bit of shopping. It definitely caters to the cruise ship crowd and tourists and the prices/shopping reflects this fact. We went on a day when the weather was up and down and it made for some entertainment when other activities weren’t possible due to the rain and wind.

walk this beautiful area and take in all the sights and sounds, great shops to poke in and great food ... Don't miss the Banyon Tree.

We walked Front Street to see the beautiful galleries and shops. There is some truly amazing art represented here! We saw the usual tee shirt shops, some nice eateries, had great views of the ocean, a nifty Banyan tree, and a lot of people out enjoying themselves. The highlight was our visit to Ululani’s shave ice. Perfect for a hot day.

Lahina waterfront is a must when visiting Maui. Historic ( one ticket gets you into the two exibits - a missionary house and a Chinese temple Dont miss the Thomas Edison film of early Hawaii in the Chinese outside kitchen.) Lots of galleries , restaurants, both sit down and take out. I like a window table at Bubba Gumps, or balcony seat at upstairs Lahina pizza. Friday night is a nice adult time if you want to visit the art galleries. Too crowded, dark and spooky for children. Check on line to see when the cruise ships are visiting and don't go then. Sidewalks are packed and the town loooses its charm. If you park behind the Wharf shopping complex and get your ticket validated in one of their shops you can park for only a couple of dollars. We usually get some coconut ice cream downstairs before we leave the town.
