“one massive tree”
Review of Banyan Tree Park

Banyan Tree Park
Ranked #9 of 78 things to do in Lahaina
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 3, 2018

this Banyan tree has taken over an entire city square. It is definitely worth seeing. It's almost like an alien life form as it simply keeps dropping new root growths down from it limbs which in turn sprout complete new trees. This is in downtown Lahaina so you can spend an afternoon site seeing, shopping and eating.

The shear size of the tree is amazing and mind boggling, it is situated at the edge of town right off the wharf and the start of the shopping district, walk in and see this awesome tree and how it drops legs to support its weight as it grows

I think you just have to see it to believe it. The tree is the size of the entire park/block. And since you are there you can enjoy the lovely town of Lahaina too.

You can't miss this tree, we were told it covered 4 acres. It's a nice park beside the enormity of the tree. They had the Whale and Ocean Arts Festival while we were there. A cut of the proceeds goes to a whale preservation fund I believe. Lots of art that is pertenant to the area. Many vendors sell goods made in Hawaii. Things were priced reasonably in my opinion. A great park for such a show. The park alone is a must see.

It won't be the most exciting part of your trip to Maui, but the Banyan tree is an icon that is worth a picture every time. Very cool to see the sprouts come off the tree to the ground. It is a well loved shade moment in the hot Maui sun, and we take a picture there every time we are there. It won't take, but a minute, but the memories are good for a lifetime.
