This was big in the 80’s and it is even bigger today. This banyan tree was planted in 1873. Must visit.

Not much to say about this, except that it's a must-visit in Lahaina. It's a beautiful tree, and a nice little park to spend time and get some shade. Glad someone had the sense to protect this. Be sure to check out the old court house as well.

We had not been to the downtown Lahaina area in past visits. We were pleasantly surprised with our visit. The banyan tree was cool to check out and on that day they had a craft and photography sale under the banyan tree. We combined the visit along with a whale watch tour (marina is steps away), shopping and lunch. A few hours well spent.

this Banyan tree has taken over an entire city square. It is definitely worth seeing. It's almost like an alien life form as it simply keeps dropping new root growths down from it limbs which in turn sprout complete new trees. This is in downtown Lahaina so you can spend an afternoon site seeing, shopping and eating.

The shear size of the tree is amazing and mind boggling, it is situated at the edge of town right off the wharf and the start of the shopping district, walk in and see this awesome tree and how it drops legs to support its weight as it grows
