“Interesting and majestic trees”
Review of Banyan Tree Park

Banyan Tree Park
Ranked #9 of 78 things to do in Lahaina
Certificate of Excellence

Went to this park while out shopping. What a eye opener on how these trees have grown. I do hope nobody else carves their initials into the trees like one that I saw. The park offers visitors shopping and music on the weekends. No money is collected from the vendors in the park because of it being a historic landmark. You place the order and then go into the building near the beach to pay for what you want. Then bring the stamped copy back to the vendor to get item. Very busy area, popular shopping area too. A must see on your trip.

We have never seen a tree so big. If it is really hot out it is a refreshing place to hang out and cool down when you are in Lahaina.

For such a beautiful tree, it was hard to appreciate it for all the people and children climbing on it (despite signs). We arrived at the end of an arts market on every weekend under the tree so it was quite busy. I was expecting a spiritual experience at the tree, and as amazing and huge as it is, but it seems the town has made it commercial and cheap.
Note: there are public toilets at the town hall at the tree.

One of the highlights of walking through Lahaina is standing under and being surrounded by the Banyan tree in the center of town. It is like being a part of history and there is no charge which is lovely. If you are lucky there is a fabulous art show and market there as a bonus. It is definitely a must see in Lahaina.

You have to see this tree! It takes up the entire park. A must see part of walking Front street in Lahaina!
