September 15, 2018. We have stayed in other resorts in the Napili Bay area, but we have been staying in Room 205 since August 28th with a gorgeous view of all of Napili Bay. Our room is a suite, and the views from the bedroom are almost as beautiful as from the balcony. This resort was completely renovated with all new flooring, appliances, beds, and furniture between 2017 and June 2018! And boy, we have slept so well in our lovely king-sized bed.

This is a 2 storey resort with many returning guests who have been coming for years! Since we've come, rather than feeling like outsiders, we were welcomed as part of the family and asked to come back next year when others will be here!

Some of these long time guests refuse to write a review because they want to keep this special place all to themselves!!

Tuesday evenings, the management serves mai tais to the guests, and on Friday mornings, we all get a delicious breakfast!

Tano, the manager, is a friendly, happy generous man who just wants his guests to relax and gave a wonderful time. His wife, Angela, and the front office staff are very helpful and welcoming.

There is one larger swimming pool and one small pool on the property. But there is the jewel of northwest Maui, ....Napili Bay, just a few steps down onto the sand. Snorkling is very good and we watched large sea turtles most afterrnoons eating algae right near the rocks on the south end of the bay.
The housekeeping is great. Sheets were changed every two days when we were here.

If you come, you won't be disappointed!

We have stayed at NSBR multiple times over the years, and have always enjoyed our stay. Their recent renovations are fantastic. Units are all updated, with every comfort and convenience needed for a relaxing stay.

Beachfront, clean, quiet and relaxing, isn't that what one goes to Maui for?

Cannot say enough good things about NSBR.

Room tip: Poolside, ocean front are the best

Tano and his ohana have gone above and beyond by creating an incredible experience at Napili Surf. The remodeled rooms are top notch yet homey and comfortable, while the grounds our exotic and fun. Where else in the world can you bar-b-que fresh fish 100 feet from the surf, after paddle boarding with sea turtles, while your family enjoys an amazing view of the turquoise Napili Bay from the lanai? I hope that some day our grand children will soon be enjoying the same joy our children have over the last 20 years here. Our family can't imagine a summer without Napili Surf Beach Resort.

If you are wondering about the renovations at Napili Surf as I was, rest assured...it is still great...just better! Tono and his staff have done a wonderful job. We just returned from an August 2018 trip with our two boys (12 and 15). Some of the nice updates include: recessed lighting throughout, new ceiling fans/lights throughout, new kitchens and appliances, new bathrooms and tiles, portable a/c in each room with tower fans available to circulate air throughout, and new tvs/cable/wifi. Same great views and reliable daily cleaning service. The staff is willing to help in any way and can offer tips during your stay. The new expanded outdoor patio area is a nice addition. There are three large grills with utensils available for use with a tremendous ocean/sunset view. There are also four tables available for outdoor dining use. There are other upgrades to operational things such as solar energy, etc.

The bottom line: it is still a spectacular spot to spend your time on Maui steps away from Napili Bay. The landscaping is immaculate.

They still have the weekly breakfast on Friday mornings. Maybe you will be lucky enough to be there for Tono's demonstration/talk regarding coconuts and their various uses. They also still do the cocktail hour on Tuesday night with mai tais, beer, etc. They host a pretty impressive hula/ traditional dance show on the second Tuesday of the month.

I have to say that Napili Surf is still a slice of paradise. You are steps away from the pool, beach, or just a lawn chair under the tree overlooking the ocean. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean each night.I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else on Maui.

The start of the Kapalua Coastal Trail (which runs into the Mahana Ridge Trail) is about a 5 min walk. It is an amazing way to start the day! Napili Surf is close to Honolua Bay, Kapalua, Kaanapali, and Lahaina. It is within driving distance of pretty much anywhere you want to go on the island. There is also a bus stop within walking distance. Daily sea turtle sightings and great snorkeling steps away. Also, don't miss the truly spectacular sunsets. Must see nightly viewing! Straight out of a postcard.

Counting the days until we can return. If you had reservations about the updates, relax and enjoy the newly updated Napili Surf for many years to come.

Another tip: The Slack Key Guitar show at Napili Kai on Wednesday nights is a short 5-10 min. walk from Napili Surf. It is fabulous if you are looking for a fun night with some traditional slack key guitar and ukulele from the masters! They begin tuning up and jamming at doors.

Napili Surf has just gone through a complete makeover! Form the completely remodeled rooms to the beautiful grounds and new gathering areas. Words cannot explain how beautiful Napili Surf is. Napili Surf s Aloha

Room tip: Unit 105 is right by the pool and steps from the beach, highly recommended.
