Awesome trip and awesome stay at Yvette and Mike's place. Renting the Jeep was easy. Place was spotless and I germ freak. Had everything we needed for our 3 day stay. Mike provided us with awesome local information. We checked out beaches on the east and west side of island. We took the kayak out on the reef right in front of the house. We saw a whale mom and babies right out our door one morning while having coffee. Mom was really thumping that tale on the water. We have been to Big Island twice and Oahu North Shore and Molokai by far is the most relaxing and laid back. No traffic and very friendly. We hiked in and out of the colony with permit and the tour was very informative. Sherron at Righteous Ink. did AMAZING work and had lots of information about the island and culture. Can't wait to come back and will not stay anywhere but Yvette and Mike's. Thanks guys.
**Side note-after getting back to Oahu for our flight to the mainland we had several hours before our long flight back to O-H-I-O. We grabbed a city bus and went to Waikiki (I think it was bus 19 or 20 just tell driver you want day pass and put in $5 exact change) for a quick lunch. Lunch was good, but as soon as we got off the bus we realized exactly why we went to Molokai. People packed in all over uhh. Molokai beaches-we had to share one beach on the west side with only a seal. On the east side no more the maybe 2-3 other families all day.
***Side note-we never even turned on the TV at the house. Never drove over 45 on the island, not one traffic light
Oh and the breakfast provide each morning was great. Banana bread was yummy!!
Convenient location just outside "town" with views of the water and channel to Lanai. The apartment was spotless, well appointed, and breakfast was fresh with good variety. The availability of a vehicle completed a wonderful package. I found Molokai to be a magical place and Mike and Yvette were so helpful helping us explore it! Highly recommend!
