Didn't know where to stay on our trip to Bar Harbor so I checked Trip Advisor & quickly found Edgewater. I like to stay at "mom & pop" places. This is part small hotel & part cottages. The property is right on the water, very beautiful & peaceful. Our room was very clean, updated, & comfortable. And the price very reasonable! Great location, just a few miles from Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor. Dave was very helpful, giving us directions & ideas of where to eat. Would love to come back & spend more time!

Great accommodations right on the water, cottages and a cozy motel!! The views and ambience are right on the mark. The owners/innkeepers are friendly and helpful. The rates are very affordable and an unbelievable value!! It's the best place to stay in and around Bar Harbor.

Room Tip: Talk to the owners/innkeepers. All cottages and rooms have a view and are on the ocean along the property's 600 feet of private coastline.

We checked in, Jayne was not only friendly, but had great tips on where to go, eat, and things to do. Our room in the motel had kitchen, king size bed, deck facing the ocean, and a fireplace, for an extremely reasonable price. We stayed 5 days, will stay there anytime we visit the area again. *Make sure you get Jayne's blueberry muffins every morning - to die for* Absolutely the most relaxing and beautiful place we have visited. This is the first place we have ever stayed that my wife wants to return to and stay again.

Room Tip: any room in motel faces the ocean, some with fireplace and kitchen, some without

We stayed at one of the second floor cabins at the very edge of the property, bounded by a forest, with a nice little balcony for viewing the cove. The furnishings in our room were a little grandmotherly but it was roomy, clean and comfortable. And that balcony was just so peaceful with lapping waves and a billion stars winking overhead. Some nice places to sit and muse close to the water are spread across the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We recommend a second floor balcony roof at the edge of the property, next to a forest.

The view is amazing. After a 9 hour drive to Maine (with a toddler no less) this was a little slice of heaven. It was so calm, beautiful, quiet, and tranquil. I couldn't sing the praises louder. The room was pretty large and spacious even though we had a pack n' play (provided by the hotel with sweet baby bedding). Bathroom was modern and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Hard to get onto the Island Explorer bus though. You have to walk a little ways (not far at all) and go across a busy road. When we got up there with our stroller, we decided not to play Frogger with our child's life and walked back for the car. Honestly, it was fine. There were plenty of parking spots on side roads in Bar Harbor where you had to walk a little further to get to eateries and to the waterfront. The whole time we were there we kept talking about bringing our relatives to vacation there in the future. Wish I was back there now!

Stayed: July 2016
