Great views over looking the Boston skyline incredible sunsets. Great menu options. Short ribs are delicious. They do not take evening reservations so I suggest going off hours.

I hate to do this especially with the fact that the Tavern has some of the best views of Boston you could wish for, and the food is pretty good too, but, on a recent visit for lunch i was sitting at a table and next to me in a booth was a lady with a dog sitting next to her. Now this wasn't a service dog, it was the small long haired "pocket book" size dog that some people insist on taking everywhere they go.
It was certainly obvious to me so i'm guessing it was certainly obvious to the server.
I like dogs, my family has dogs, i had a dog for a while until i discovered i have an allergy to both pet dander and the saliva so double whammy for me.
Being allergic to dogs makes this a little uncomfortable for me, sure i could have asked to move, but any restaurant that allow's animals in the dining room that is not a service dog is no longer worthy of my patronage.

The Tavern at Quarry Hills (at Granite Links) features spectacular views of Boston and surrounding area from atop the old Quarry Hill in Quincy. The Tavern serves lunch and dinner to golf patrons as well as the public. I ordered a garden salad with grilled scallops which was a little bland and the scallops overdone. I did not finish the dish. A business associate ordered the flatbread pizza with mushrooms which she said was very good. Another associate ordered the clam chowder which he also enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive. On balance a pretty good experience.

My son goes to college nearby and we found this place on trip advisor. We were very pleased. There is a great view and the menu was diverse and the food was good. Good wine choices. Service really good. Hostess very pleasant and helpful. Two pieces of advice. First, definitely order the fried cornbread. This is an appetizer but feels like dessert. Don’t be scared by the jalapeño jelly -it is sweet and absolutely decadent. Second, be careful of Google maps. It will take you to the bottom of the hill behind the club house and you will need to turn left at an entrance that is just about across the apartments. We made the mistake of driving past the entrance and were baffled when we were brought to a construction area with no lights. We turned around and found the entrance but it was a diversion.

A hidden gem off the beaten path. Unique, romantic, quaint, historic....all that, and the food is great. The view of the Boston skyline at dusk is awesome. Food portions were very large and the taste excellent.
