Regardless of whether you ride a bike or simply walk it you have to see this iconic fixture of San Francisco.
Walked to GG from Lombard Street. Was a sunny, clear and chilly day so had great views of the bridge all the way. One of the main things to do in SFO.
Best way to experience Golden Gate Bridge is to walk or bike the North bound on weekdays because on weekends, bikers have to use the West side which is a little boring view compared to the East side. East side is only for pedestrians on weekend.
If you bike across the bridge, continue to Sausalito and take a Golden Gate Ferry back to San Francisco's Ferry Building.
Just as expected - it’s a beautiful, iconic place. It’s a must see if you are visiting San Francisco.
Golden Gate Bridge is an architectural treasure of the United States. It connects Sausalito with San Francisco and also borders the Pacific Ocean with the bay area. The national park service made this place an extremely easy spot to hit and provide tourists with different hiking opportunities on the bridge and around the park area. The bridge itself is a bit difficult to walk on for it is quite windy and the cars are going fast. And the hike is way longer than it looked like. You can get some very good pictures of the city of San Francisco on the bridge. If you're tired of walking back, then you can easily get a uber at the other end of the bridge.
It’s a bridge so we nearly didn’t visit as we’d seen it from the Alcatraz ferry but I’m so pleased we did. It definitely has the wow factor and the Roundhouse Café (which itself is a lovely Art Deco building) has brilliant views of it. The shop & information centre are worth a visit too.
We went on the 28 bus which took us right there.
