Walked up the steep streets to Lombard Street with a 9 year old. So many tourists at the bottom of Lombard Street taking photos but expected as such a famous street. Definitely one thing to do on your sightseeing list.

While it isn't truly the most crooked street it's fun nonetheless to drive down Lombard Street. The road has been decked up with flowers etc to make it look better than a regular street would. If you have a car then you can drive down the street and it's a fun experience.

If you don't have a car then the best thing to do is get onto a Powell and Hyde street car and get off at the Lombard stop. This way you can kill 2 birds with one stone - experience the street car and see Lombard. If you choose to walk down Lombard then continue walking down the street until you reach Taylor from where you can take another street car back.

Lovely little street in the middle of San Francisco. We hired a Go Car so was able to drive down that was an experience.
Photos don’t do it justice.
We liked it so much we walked back to walk down too!

Seeing the curvy street with a picturesque view was certainly worthwhile. It is an active street so cars are constantly travelling down it but there is a path and room to take photos along its course. We only stopped here for 10 minutes for some photos but it is worth visiting.

It’s almost as if Lombard Street was designed and built to be a tourist attraction - the curviest street in the world. I guess it serves the purpose of slowing traffic down, but it takes a very wide avenue to achieve this. Nicely landscaped, with flowers and shrubs along the curves.
