“Great B&B”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

This is a great B&B in between the Mission and Castro districts. My partner and I were very pleased with our room, the grounds, and the repair of the property itself. Breakfast included fresh bread, fruit, cereals, etc (and occasionally fresh bagels). Our room was a large king overlooking Church Street. Loved the room. We sleep with a sound machine (luckily) since the streetcar will most certainly wake you up at 5am otherwise. I am very sensitive to noise. Overall, I would give this a very good rating and will most certainly return. My only complaints were the room could have been cleaned more thoroughly daily and one of the staff members seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. I will recommend. I think it helped that we had amazing weather the whole week as well.

Eschew the downtown hotels and lofts and stay here. You'll be a stone's throw from dolores park, close to some of the best bakeries and bars in town and in the thick of the mission and castro districts. The B&B is lovely - the house gleams from the tremendous care and love its owners have put into it - dark wood paneling, thick sturdy doors, an inviting fire. But the best thing about the Parker Guest House is the staff. Considerate, inviting and *warm* - I could feel their genuine pleasure in inviting me to stay with them during my first sojourn to San Francisco.

Loved the outdoor courtyards. There are two main houses which share a manicured courtyard. Everything was freshly painted. The kitchens (two) and rooms have the pottery barn appeal. We stayed in a tiny room. The walls are thin, making it possible to hear a snoring neighbor. There is also a commuter train that whizzes by around 7:00 a.m. The bathrooms could use some more shelves and/or hooks. The reception area needs an update as well to match the rest of the inn. Scott was a lovely host. He went out of his way to welcome us "home." The inn is within walking distance to the Castro as well as Noe Valley (albeit a very steep hill). If you are staying during the week and have a car, pay the extra $ for parking. It's a lot easier to find parking on the weekend near the inn.

The Parker Guest House is a nice, clean and cozy Bed & Breakfast place, situated in the Mission. The rooms are nice and the people are super friendly.

Found the Parker Guest House by what some would say is accident but I would happily call serendipity! Great location, beautiful property/decor, wonderful amenities, delicious breakfast all accompanied by the best asset the Parker Guest House has -- top shelf staff! You could not ask to be treated more kindly yet professionally and all are made to feel welcome and at home. Highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: Room on the first floor main house is convenient, off to itself, has two large windows for light and...

I picked Parker Guest House to stay at because it was the closest place to stay to an event I was attending. It wasn't until I'd already booked it that I noticed it was referred to a "gay hotel." Which after about half a second, I decided didn't matter in the least.

And it shouldn't matter to you either, because if let that fact negatively influence your decision in any way, you are missing out on what is quite possibly some of the best service and beautiful B n' B location in San Francisco.

The room was beautiful and well-kept, the property as a whole is gorgeous and clearly cared for very well. The staff was seriously the kindest, most helpful staff we've seen at a hotel in a really, really long time.

The neighborhood is wonderful and within walking distance of loads of cool places in the Mission district and Castro - which are pretty hip places (maybe too hip for an old dude like me?) with lots of places to eat, and shop. You can take the Church street train down to Market and be in downtown without driving in about 15-20 minutes, which is great too.

Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back of the hotel are a little quieter, but ALL the rooms are far quieter than jus...
