Really enjoyed our stay at the Willows inn. Would highly recommend staying here particularly in terms of very helpful and attentive service from all of the staff.

Jamie greeted us at the door, and provided a knowledgeable tour of the inn. Our room had a great 3rd floor street view, and the bedroom was equipped with a sink, armoire, and a comfortable bed. The complimentary cocktail hour was a great way to meet the other guests, and the breakfasts that Mike & Allen provided were both nutritious and varied selections (they have coffee to-go also!). There were plenty of shared restrooms with separate WC's and showers. The facilities were immaculately clean, and there was plenty of tourist information and maps to compliment the numerous bookshelves featuring gay literature and history books of yesteryear. All-in-all--I'd highly recommend everyone to give it a try!

Room was clean and comfortable. Hosts were friendly. Breakfast room had everything. Cosy lounge with heaps of books and information. Great location next to Castro, supermarket and tram to CBD and wharf etc. Shared bathroom but it was close and always available. I would not hesitate in staying here again. Thanks guys.

Just off the busy Market thoroughfare with its many restaurants and shops, and about 5 minutes' walk from the famous gay neighbourhood of Castro, the Willows' location is great. The low-key entrance leads up a stair to the two floors of the guest house. The owner is very friendly and keeps his eye on standards. Guests are invited for a complimentary beer or glass of wine and nibbles most nights - a pleasant way to meet fellow travellers. Bedrooms are homely (homey is perhaps the better US-English word!) rather than posh; there are big, bay-windowed rooms on both floors if you ask for them. Our room was very clean, came with plenty towels, toiletries, fridge, fan, welcome card, a couple of local luxury chocolates and robes - the WCs and showers are along the corridor as no rooms are en-suite. There are countless books and maps including a vast array of local interest material available to borrow or read. Easy, fast, free wi-fi. There is a small lounge. Breakfast is in a small kitchen-type room from which you may help yourself anytime day or night to tea / coffee / juice / biscuits - a nice touch. In sum, the Willows is a comfortable and unpretentious, welcoming 'bed and breakfast inn' for adults - ideal for solo travellers - in an ideal location.

Room Tip: Front-facing rooms with bay windows are best.

This was our fourth time at the Willows Inn and we absolutely love it! A cosy bed and breakfast inn with a very warm welcome. The Inn is situated within 1 minute of street car, underground and bus routes which cover all areas of the city. The Inn Keepers all offer the warmest of welcomes and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is an open kitchen to feed the hungriest appetite and drinks each evening from 6-7pm all add to the pleasure. We always use room 22 (largest and on the front). Although not the quietest because of the Market Street, we love it as the chaise longue provides a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Although this is a shared bathroom inn, there is piping hot water and ample toilet facilities to prove no problem at all. The reception office is a great source of information and a place to buy your Muni travel cards and stamps! We cannot rate this place highly enough - informal atmosphere and safe environment.

Room Tip: Room 22 is great - overlooking Market Street!
