Given the generally outrageous prices of hotels in San Francisco this is quite a bargain. As you will understand from their website it is not a traditional hotel, which was fine with us. Rooms are clean and comfortable, decor is basic but functional. The common room is very comfortable. Unbeatable location. I will definitely go back.

I was greeted by Amanda, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't ready yet, but she let my boyfriend shower in the communal bathroom before we checked in, which was very nice because we had been travelling a lot. It's little things like that that make all the difference! She was also happy to store our lugguge for us while we waited for our room. Amanda really made us feel taken care of and welcome at Sleep Over Sauce.

The bed and breakfast itself is very nice. They have fresh fruit, hot coffee, cereal, etc. Our room was located on the third floor and I couldn't of asked for a better one! It was large and cozy.

This B&B is also located in Hayes Valley district, close to resutaurants and great little coffee shops (Australians will appreciate this coffee!!) on and around Linden Street (about a 2 minute walk from Sleep Over Sauce). I highly reccomend Ritual Coffee Roasters and Blue Bottle Cafe if you're serious about good quality coffee.

I will be staying here again when I visit San Fran in the future.

Sleep over Sauce is a convenient place to stay as well as dine in a great location in hip Hayes Valley. Rooms are comfortable with character, though up a flight of stairs, and street noise can be mildly disturbing in the rooms directly on Gough Street if the window is open.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a huge, generally empty common lounge room with couches and a big tv, and a simple breakfast is served to guests.

This is a great gem of a B&B in San Francisco. Locals have their friends and family stay here because of the great location and incredible price. It is not a "traditional" hotel (or B&B). It is self-service, with standard amenities. The rooms are a bit dated, but who is going to sit in their hotel all day? If you arrive before the restaurant opens there is a good chance that housekeeping will be there to help (and they are great).

Just be happy you have a clean, safe room at an incomparable price and go out and enjoy the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Rooms without bathrooms have private bathrooms across the hall.

This is a small hotel over a Restaurant - "Sauce",. So you Sleep over Sauce.
If you are looking for a really ritzy place with a Reception Desk, a Lift and all mod cons give it a miss. But if you are looking for something clean, comfortable, good price and do not mind climbing the stairs this is the place for you. It is about 10-15 min easy walk from the BART. Close to the bus routes and heaps of restaurants. Even though you are above the Restaurant it is very quite. We ate at "Sauce" twice. It was so good food. If you arrive after 5pm to check in the Barman will do that for you. The staff in the restaurant are so friendly and will help you with anything. Some rooms have there own bathroom others a share arrangement. One the first floor there is a giant common room with microwave, fridge, food plus a large lounge, TV, books, board games. A great area to relax. They also have a 24 hour business centre. A really great hotel - a hidden gem!!
