This church does not charge admission!!! Not sure why others posted that. As in cathedrals all over the world, donations are encouraged but by no means required for a visit. I had read about the history of this progressive church and included it as a "must-see" on my latest trip to SF. It's the perfect haven for a break from a hectic day or whirlwind trip in the city. I attended a Thursday evensong service and was moved by the echoing sounds of the men and boys' choirs ricocheting through the knave. I only wished more people had attended. The AIDS chapel is a tribute to interfaith harmony and offers the opportunity to submit the name of a loved one who has died of AIDS in their memory book as a way to honor them. I had a different expectation of the "labyrinth" I had read about on the website, but really enjoyed the concept and found the outside labyrinth to be more conducive to contemplation. Helpful staff.
