Located very close to all sorts of public transport its great for getting around SF. Fisherman's wharf itself is kinda tacky but its still a good location. You're also not far from the Alcatraz boarding terminal - try and do a night tour here - so atmospheric. The hotel itself is lovely - the first night we had noisy neighbours so we were moved the next day for our remaining 3 nights and had no further issues. Free wifi and a business centre are available. We had a continental breakfast included which consisted of fruit and a pastry. You could add more like eggs and stuff and pay separately for this. Its about 30 minute drive to the airport and we used the shared taxi service as advertised on the hotel website - think it as about $20 each so for people travelling on their own its a good option. If there are 3 or more you might as well get your own taxi as it would work out the same. If in SF again i would probably stay here again - the reason i say probably is because I might just like to stay in another area of the city but for any first timers wondering about this hotel I would definitely recommend. This was our first time in SF and we had 4 nights in total and i'm glad we had that time as we could really explore the city without having too much rushing. SF is great city and cant wait to go back

Dear Max29,
I can't agree more. The Alcatraz night tour is quite an experience! I'm glad to hear you got to enjoy it on your first trip to SF. Thank you for your comments about the hotel. We love getting the feedback. Another area of San Francisco to consider on your next trip could be Union Square. There are several other Kimpton hotels in that neighborhood. If you liked our style at the Argonaut I am confident you would enjoy your stay at our sister properties. Of course, you know we'll be waiting to roll out the red carpet for you next time you're in Fisherman's Wharf.
Best,
Greg Pinetti

This was our second stay at the Argonaut and, once again, they exceeded our expectations. The friendly front desk staff, excellent door men, maids and accommodations were right on the mark. They have truly thought things through at this hotel. Excellent for families.

sBooked this hotel on wotif.com and the rate we got was Realy discounted. The hotel is probably a bit pricey at full price and therefore my rating is based on the discounted rate. Location is fab though especially for children. We were travelling with two small children And in our case staying in union square would have been troublesome. Fishermans wharf is a much better option for children in our opinion. Love the fun nautical theme. The lobby was a bit chilly at night time for evening drinks with our traveling cOmpanions but a gale was howling in San Fran that day. If I was back in San Fran I would consider this hotel again for sure. Thank you argonaut for our fabulous stay - we will cherish our memories of complimentary hot chocolate in the lounge and much more.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. The rooms were nice, very clean and nice decor, only downside was the view of nothing but other hotel windows however we did try to upgrade to a better view of the bay but hotel was fully booked. The inclusive breakfast was nice and great access to the bus/cable car services. 20 min walk to gg bridge and 5 to Fishermans wharf and pier 39

We escaped the wind, rain, and snow of WA to visit San Francisco on a last minute spring break vacation. The weather did not disappoint nor did the Argonaut Hotel. We got a good deal on priceline ($150/nt plus room upgrade) and were excited for our 4 night stay. The staff was friendly, the room was large with a nice view, and the Blue Mermaid restaurant provided a nice place for a meal. The hotel location was perfect...close to the Wharf and all transportation. Walking the wharf was easy and public transportation helps navigate the hills. The only negatives...The cost of parking 46/nt and limited TV choices. Thank you Argonaut hotel...we would definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a deal...Would not be worth the published rates!

Boutique hôtel that pays attention to the details. Unique room decor. Quiet. Usually a line at the concierge's desk who was very patient with each request. If you prefer to handle your own bags, you have to be a bit assertive. Great location if you want to stay on the wharf.

Having never been to San Francisco before we were reliant on our travel agent to recommend a suitable hotel.

Recommending the Argonaut Hotel and after checking Trip Advisor reviews we agreed to give is Hotel a try.

Frankly, we could not have chosen better.

Lee arrived very late (after midnight) at night after a 14 hour trip and was greater by a friendly and helpful receptionist who recognized that all we really wanted to do was get some sleep so she quickly handled our check in. Our room frankly was fantastic. Clean, airy, and modern.
The following day, after getting some feast, we were in a better frame of mind to take in the environs.

The hotel is situated very close (some would describe actually at) Fisherman's Wharf. Situated in an old style brick building it has been decorated in a tasteful nautical theme including the rooms.

Being at Fisherman's Wharf it is very centrally located and most attractions are within walking distance. If you wanted to go into the main CBD and Shopping Center of San Francisco The cable car leaves just to the side of the hotel.

This hotel has its own restaurant and I am informed that this restaurant is regarded by locals and visitors as one of the best Chowder Restaurants in the city.
Every night they has a wine tasting 1/2 hour in the lounge around the blazing fire. (at least that did when we were there.)

Staff were friendly and helpful.

We will return and I look forward to doing so.
