We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf this past holiday weekend and had a very good experience. Hotel is older but well-maintained, with everything clean and kept-up. Room also has amenities travelers have come to expect, including plenty of plugs for power and devices. It has been super cold so we did not use the pool but there is one, reportedly heated. There's a fun chalkboard by the elevators which invites you to write what you would like to do before your trip ends. Room service is excellent, thorough and trustworthy.
Cons: even for SF, the obligatory hotel breakfast buffet is $25 per person, $19 for "continental" (we did not eat but probably sweet bread, coffee, juice and that nice boxed cereal). Parking is also costly. But you would expect that anywhere here.
It's good location and good hotel - no one should hesitate to stay here.More
