I traveled to Saipan for business, giving a seminar. The seminar was held at the PIC so I was able to experience the resort of many different levels.

First thing to know, this is a family resort with a great water park although many of the sections such as the surfing pool were not in use (possibly because it was Oct.) Beyond the water park is the beach. Apparently there are many opportunities to schedule other activities.

Not so good-I came to work so my early rising schedule did not mix so well with the late night karaoke late into the evening. The rooms were tired but a remodel is in progress so that leads to the good news...
Good news- The seminar room and meals were great. The buffet for lunch was excellent. The service was excellent and the pick up from the hotel late at night was fabulous. ( About 15 minutes from town and airport)

Room tip: Most interior rooms overlook the water park

The Pacific Island Club is a great hotel located right on the leeward side of the island and right on the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is just so much to do there. They have the beach of course and then the lazy river where you just take a tube and go with the flow! Just relax all your cares away as the currents take you for a nice slow ride around the man made river. They have one of the largest swimming pools on the island with a pirate ship right next to the pool. The restaurants have great food at affordable prices. And the entertainment for the guest is terrific. There is also an outside Tiki bar that plays live music as you sit out in the court yard under the stars. You will love this place and once you experience it you will want to come back again and again. Tours are also arranged at the front desk so you can tour this beautiful gem of an island and see all the sights and also learn of the war that took place here back in 1944-45. The island of Tinian is near by and you can visit by air plane for very little cost. Tinian is where the B 29's took off to bomb Tokyo during the war with 2 atomic bombs to end the war. So much history here. And did I mention the water is gin clear and always 82 degrees year round?. Great for snorkeling and scuba diving! Put this island on your bucket list! You will be glad you did!

If you are staying or visiting at Pacific Islands Club - Saipan, I highly recommend eating at the Galley Resturant. Good food and service especially during dinner around 7 pm. I recommend Shin Ramen, seasoned fries, burgers, and pizza.

Sorry, this is not a review of the PIC but rather it's Sunset Happy Hour at the Seaside Grill.

It's known to many locals as the happy hour (~5-7pm) sunset viewing spot at the beach for half-price sushi tapas and handcrafted drinks, cocktails, beers and smoothies of all types with unlimited spiced and plain potatoes skins thrown in. Reservations brings a prepared dining table while spontaneous appearances do not, while likely table-room will be made.

All ceviche, tapas (larger quantity than typical in our experience) drinks and smoothies were rated excellent by 6. The sunset tonight was not to write home about.

This is a hidden delightful light early dinner option. Hidden because of how TA prefers; as best as I am able to determine, not to include Hotel Restaurants generally under restaurants, with exceptions I have yet succeeded in achieving. While a bit out of the way for most Garapan residing folks, with transport available, this is definitely worth a dinner seat if inclined to be happy early rather than late. Just work your way to the Seaside Grill by scent, sense or directions and enjoy.
