When we go to Ashville, the Haywood is always our first choice because of the quality & also that it is right in the middle of town. Their Valet will park your car & you can walk to any number of good restaurants, brewpubs, wine shops, coffee shops, bookstores, art galleries, or shop for funky odds & ends in local stores. The Haywood's building was a former Bon Marche department store so it like most of Ashville has an interesting repurposed vibe. We are repeat visitors & would always stay there, but being a small popular hotel it can be booked well in advance.

This is a lovely hotel in downtown Asheville that was once a department store. We had a beautiful and spacious room on the 2nd floor ("men's wear)". From the valet who greeted us as soon as we got out of our car, to the very helpful front desk staff to the housekeeping staff who brought us an evening chocolate and ice and asked if we wanted turn down service, this place was fantastic. We can't say enough about it. It was great and we would recommend it to anyone who wants a superior experience in downtown Asheville.

Room Tip: we had a lovely room on the 2nd floor with sofa, two chairs, desk and a king sized bed

We loved our king size room. We had plenty of room, and it had a couch, 2 easy chairs and an ottoman. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a very central location. Our only issue was the wifi. My Android tablet and phone couldn't get on the first 2 days, but my wife's iPhone and iPad could. Eventually all the devices were on wifi, but would get dropped occasionally.

It was our second time at the Haywood Park and when we come back to Asheville we definitely will stay here again. The cordiality and helpfulness of all the staff was outstanding. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. It had a luxurious sitting area and it even came with a tv in the bathroom (which had two sink areas, by the way - a pleasure!). Clearly, one of the nicest small hotels we have seen.

Stayed here for 2 nights. almost everything was excellent. Our room was spacious with a very nice sitting area. Room was pleasantly appointed. Bathroom was large with separate shower and tub arrangement. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Common areas are attractive. The hotel is located in the center of the downtown area and is just a few blocks from most of the entertainment venues and restaurants. They offer valet parking, but the Rankin Street parking garage is just a block away and only charges $10 a day. If you don't intend to use your car during your stay this is a better option than having to drive to the hotel and then have a valet park you vehicle.
So, where does the almost everything come in? It is their pet policy. I have nothing against dogs or cats or any other type of animal, however their owners are another story. We had to put up with a yapping dog while its owners left it in a strange hotel room while they went out. This happened on several occasions. I would have given an excellent rating except for the policy of allowing pets in the rooms. A hotel of this quality should not allow pets
