Great place to go for a run or a walk. There is a nice trail around the lake which makes it easy for either.

We love driving around this tree-lined lake...think Walden Pond. Everyone is out walking, running, walking their dogs...and canoeing,

Enough shade to run in summer. Romantic walk from bird sanctuary to lake.
Must have a permit for dog walking , boating or fishing. Warden is usually there checking.

What a lovely place! Boardwalk trails were well done and easily accessible. No one was there but us and we were able to picnic with a front row seat to a spectacular sunset and watch and hear nothing but the birds around us.

On the near-north side of Asheville, this lake has paved and good trail walk-way all around. Wonderful place to re-collect oneself, walk the dog or wander with a friend while chatting.
