We just loved Asheville and did a lot of hiking and the fall leaves were stunning. I stayed with my husband and our 3 year old. We used the spare cot provided for our child. The washer dryer came in handy because we got caught in a rainstorm
We loved cooking on the gas stove and the kitchen was well equipped w coffee, tea, pots ,pans, wine glasses etc. The bed is comfy and the cabin was in a great location, close to restaurants, grocery stores and downtown Asheville
We just loved the Wishing Tree Cabin

“The Wishing Tree Cottage was a warm and welcoming retreat.”

Wishing Tree had everything we needed to make for a very nice stay while we visited Asheville. The cottage had a peaceful feeling, the bedding was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we would have needed if we chose to make meals during our stay. I enjoyed my morning coffee (provided) just outside the front door each morning.

“Beautiful Little Space”

We stayed for two nights and found the cabin to be delightful. Just minutes away from downtown - beer, food and music. We never had reason to see the owners but they were available to us if needed and always responded to our messages. The cabin itself is fabulous. A little tight in the bathroom but not overly so.

“Cozy Cabin Nestled in the Trees”

This little cabin has everything you need. It's just the right size for a couple- with a bedroom, living area, and kitchen. The kitchen has the basics you need for meal prep, and the living area has a comfy love seat for vegging out in the evening. It was too warm for us to use the gas fireplace but I'm sure that it's SUPER cozy in cooler months! When it's warm, you'll enjoy the back porch or the outdoor patio. It was a bonus to find a washer and dryer in a nice sized laundry room- we kept all of our luggage in there which kept the bedroom clutter free. The bedroom itself was cute with a bay window that looks out into trees. A friendly squirrel would sometimes stop by in the morning.

It is situated in a quiet corner in the trees just outside of Asheville. We used this as a home base for roaming around the mountains nearby. Just a stone's throw from the Biltmore House, Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Rebecca was an extremely warm & welcoming host- and a good neighbor to have nearby! All of her local suggestions for things like best tubing spots or best shopping areas were SPOT ON! So be sure to ask for her suggestions for local attractions. We only needed a couple of little things while we were here, but when we called she was always close at hand to help us out.

“Just Perfect!”

Lovely rustic cabin with all the necessary conveniences and surprisingly close to everything. I absolutely love the decor, the gas fireplace came in handy as the mornings were a bit chilly, and the lovely selection of teas made it feel just like home. I probably got overly excited about having a gas stove, since we were only there for two nights and only used it to boil water for tea! -Next time we'll plan to stay longer and cook in! In the garden, the rhododendrons and other flowers are in full bloom and buzzing with bumblebees, and the stone terrace, small pond, and various decorative items make for a beautiful and peaceful setting. Downtown is only 10 minutes away, just a few minutes longer if you want to avoid the highway, and in the other direction Weaverville gives you small town charm and several small art galleries to shop. Biltmore is also less than 20 minutes away. I can't imagine a better home away from home and will definitely plan to stay here again the next time we visit Asheville!

“Cozy Cabin”

We stayed at Wishing Tree in mid November 2015 and had a fantastic time exploring the Asheville area. This serene, beautifully rustic getaway is nestled on the shoulder of a mountain that isolates it from all the noise of, well, anything save nature but is 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. The cabin was well equipped with a well setup kitchen, linens, etc. comes with a surprisingly efficient small natural gas fireplace that heats the space up rapidly and provides plenty of warmth plus an additional electric space heater if it gets really chilly. The small backyard is secluded and offers you a little piece of paradise unto yourself. If you are looking for peace and serenity at the edge of the mountains but comfortably close to the Asheville main scene, this is the spot for you. The trek up to the cabin is slightly intimidating if you are from the flatlands of FL like we were but very easy to handle after your first attempt (our small 4 cyl. Rav4 handled it fine). Our host Rebecca was fantastic and greeted us on our first morning there and made us feel well tended.
Word of note, Google Maps places you a block west of its actual position so keep that in mind when looking for this spot- its beautiful isolation will more than make up for this minute confusion should you face it.

“Fantastic cabin and excellent location!”

My 16 year old daughter and I had a fantastic two-night stay at Wishing Tree Cabin, on our way to Florida. We arrived extremely late (midnight) and the cabin was well-lit, immaculately clean, and ready for us to just fall asleep. The decor wasnice, kitchen had everything we needed, the wifi worked great, and the garden and setting were also very serene and beautiful. The location was perfect for what we wanted which was to go whitewater rafting on the French Broad River, and also spend some time in downtown Asheville, both within a 20-30 minute drive. We met the owner the day after arrival, and she very graciously gave us restaurant recommendations in Asheville, which we followed up on and enjoyed (Salsas)! I'd love to return to the Asheville area and would stay at this cabin again in a heartbeat. :)
