The only good this is location. Everything else is CRAP. Rooms are small, beds are hard and noise level is RIDICULOUS. If you are sensitive in sound while sleeping stay away from this hotel. You could hear next room's discussion. I got ear plugs from CVS and used to get a good sleep. You have many more choices.. AVOID THIS HOTEL.

This hotel is adorable. Great Lobby with nice bar and tons of seating. Room was small but cute and functional. Staff was super friendly. The only reason I’m rating this a 3 is because the walls were PAPER THIN. We could literally hear every.single.word. the people in the room next to us said. Making their plans for the day, sneezing, etc...

The manager summed it up properly when he stated: maybe this is not the right hotel for you. He hit the nail on the head as our family seeks hotels that aim to meet the needs of guests. I am tied to this property based on nostalgia, however, this is the third stay in a row I realized that Park Plaza is run by a bunch of kids and is totally understaffed. It is a shame to see such a great property that has been serving the area for years rely on its past to dis-serve its present guests. The first night of our stay we were put into a room that smelled like an ashtray. The second night we were promised delivery of our packages within an hour (confirmed three times) only to wait three hours and in person follow up at the front desk because we could not get a live person on the phone (not a surprise-this is the norm). Simply put, the property is a nicely restored older property but by no means unique to the area. Unless you are getting a good rate, look elsewhere and save yourself the aggravation. I could have stayed at Marriott Copley for the same rate and won't make this mistake again.

I booked this hotel due to high reviews on trip advisor. While the location was great, the service was terrible and the rooms were not that great either. Parking and food was overpriced...

The valet guys chatted white each other while my husband was taking 3 large suitcases out of the car, none of them helped or offered to call a bell boy. We had to go to check in with all our luggage and an overtired 5 year old.. at check in, they did not have our reservation in their system and we were told to wait ( even though I was flashing them with my confirmation email and the confirmation number). When we got to the room, we were disappointed with the size and the bathroom look, for a 4 star hotel you expect more... we could hear everything happening in the hallways and on the street ( being in downtown that’s a lot of noise throughout the night). In the evening my husband went to the bar to get us couple glasses of wine, he was serviced by very rude bar tender... we lost some luggage by the elevator ( my sons backpack) people at the post and found were rude and no help at all. One security guy was the only nice person there who was pleasant and helpful.

Went for a short, one-night stay to celebrate a recent birthday. Since we booked the room last minute (after finding a great deal online that we couldn't resist), I wasn't sure what we would get regarding a room. I was pleasantly surprised with our decent-sized, albeit oddly shaped) king room, with one of the most comfortable hotel mattresses I've ever experienced. The linens were of a similarly good quality; we slept very well.

As this is a very old hotel, the room shapes and sizes vary greatly. As for our room - we had plenty of room at either side of the bed, but the foot of the bed was very close to the wall/tv, almost necessitating that we turn sideways in order to pass to the other side. But it wasn't too bad - certainly a manageable amount of space was present, and the large "width" of the room more than made up for it. Our shower wasn't exactly spacious, but again, it was by no means unmanageable. Nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel of its age.

Other things worth noting:
- The location is amazing. Centrally located in downtown Boston, a very short walk to the Public Garden, the Common, the theatre district, Beacon Hill and more. Easy access to the green line at Arlington, as well as being close to the red line at Park St.
- The TV uses Google Chromecast, which allows you to stream your Netflix, Hulu, etc. account with the use of a downloadable app.
- The newly re-done rooms, halls, and lobby are beautiful. Sophisticated and modern, without destroying the hotel's "classic" architecture/charm.
- The hotel bar is a pretty popular place, so rooms on the lower floors might be a little noisy. Again, it wasn't overly terrible, but given the acoustics in our particular room, an earlier bedtime would not have been feasible.
- The front desk staff was great; everyone was pleasant and friendly, and check-in/check-out was a breeze.

Overall, I certainly recommend the Park Plaza.
