“Elegant Hotel with Exceptional Service”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Langham for a long weekend and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the Freedom Trail, Quincy Market and the North End. The doorman greeted us upon our arrival and that was the first indication of the fabulous service we would be given. Each member of the staff treated us as if we were VIPs and helped to make our stay extremely pleasurable. The superior room was quite spacious and charming, with a very comfortable king sized bed and pillows and a large flat screen TV. If Boston was not such a great city, we would have spent more time in the room!

We stayed here over the Easter weekend, returning home today. The hotel is located within walking distance to Mike's Pastry (very important!), the metro station, convention centre, and Quincy Market. We booked the room through a hotel discount site, and the fee we paid was reasonable. I don't think I would pay anymore. Our room was a nice size, it was far away from the elevators and the ice machine room which is a bonus for light sleepers. There is no kettle in the room but you can get hot water from the water dispenser in the fitness facility.

The fitness room has treadmills and some eliptical machines, free weights and hammer strength machines. It's neat and tidy though I wish they had gloves for the disinfecting wipes that are used to wipe down the exercise equipment after use. I was hesitant to use the pool after learning about another reviewer's negative experience with the chemical burn and high chlorine levels.

Most of the front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. One downside though is that it is located in the financial district which is pretty much a ghost town after business hours, but then again, that means the area is nice and quiet for a good night's sleep.

Dear to_peace,
Firstly, I’d like to thank you for the high ratings and complimentary review you gave us on Trip Advisor. I’m happy to see that you found our hotel to be a peaceful and convenient location during your visit, and that you enjoyed your room accommodations. I’m also happy to see that you found our Health Club suitable to your needs. Please know that, upon your next stay with us, we do offer gloves at the Health Club reception desk should you need them. I’m sorry you were not made aware of this fact during you stay.

To address your concerns about our pool, the problems mentioned in earlier reviews have been corrected and our pool is in good working order and perfectly safe for guest use.

I do hope you will stay with us again the next time you take a trip to Boston. We would love to have the opportunity to create a more memorable experience for you!

Great location in heart of financial district but also just a short walk to the restaurants and bars of the new seaport district. Rooms have old world charm, very well maintained and spotless. Staff very friendly, service genuine. Bond the trendy lounge and bar is stunning and good gym, pool and a spa is very good. Excellent value for money.

This hotel was very luxurious. We'd stayed 2 years before, and it was wonderful. We stayed in a room with a pullout sofa, which was made up with a cute kiddie back pack for our son. He loved it! They also provided a robe for our 2 and a half year old son, so he had something to use when walking back from the pool. The layout of the room was great, since the adult bed was in an alcove and the sofa was off on the other side. It allowed us to read after our son went to sleep (with small book lights). The pool is in the spa area, and was very relaxing and nice. The breakfast buffet was amazing! The food was delicious! The hotel was easily walkable to the Children's Museum, Aquarium, Boston Commons, and Quincy Market. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly.

We couldn't really control the renovations that were going on, but it did have an odd smell and cut out some of the area for our son to hang out in. Also, the elevators had a very perfumed smell, which was not pleasant as we are very sensitive to scents. It also seemed at though someone was smoking across the hall from us even though the hotel is non-smoking. The staff said they'd look into it. And the last thing we thought was unpleasant was the food trays and utensils that were left in the hallway. With a child who likes to explore and touch everything, we thought it was both gross and annoying to have old room service in the hallway for several hours, during the day and evening times. We've come across this with several hotels. They really should make an effort to clear the hallway of used room service stuff, not just for small children, but it's gross.

We stayed here for a week in January and it was a great base from which to explore Boston. The staff were friendly, especially the Head Concierge, who was very helpful. Enjoyed eating in the restaurant and would definitely reccommend the chocolate buffet and the Sunday brunch. Also had a facial in the spa, which was great.

Hotel was under construction when we visited. The beds were nice, but lobby was a bit if a mess. Not sure if it was worth the price those.

My family and I stayed at the Langham to celebrate a birthday and enjoy kid friendly attractions - N.E. Aquarium and Boston Children's Museum. This hotel is in a superb location to walk to both of these as well as only blocks from the must see/do place in Boston - Faneiul Hall. I have stayed at the Langham for a more romantic based evening (and LOVED BOND), however, our children loved everything about the hotel and appreciated the beautiful ("fancy") decor.

The pool is small but a great amenity and kids are not picky about size just that there is water to jump into.....the jacuzzi was also wonderful. All staff were very friendly and helpful. In addition, we enjoyed some room service as a treat and can say that was fantastic as well.

Truly high quality hotel for multiple types of travelers. And check out is not until 1pm!!! You can't beat that!!
