“Good southern food-Be prepared to pay for the entertainment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

I dined with a group of 6 girl friends at 9pm on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and had no problem being seated on time. There was an hour and a half wait so make sure to make a reservation!

The food was good but not amazing but our drinks were creative and fun.

There was live jazz which was nice but we were a little shocked to see a $3 per person entertainment charge.

Overall a nice night out!

“Poor service, poor communication.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night with a reservation for two. After waiting one hour and twenty-five minutes, we still did not have a table. At no point did anyone apologize or communicate to us why we had to wait. There were no offers of appetizers, drinks, or a free meal. We ordered a drink at the bar, and the bartender immediately forgot our order, meaning we had to wait ten minutes just for a draft beer. On the way out the door, the manager said they were swamped due to an expiring Groupon, but that is no excuse. If someone had told us that when we arrived, we would have just left. Instead, it ruined our evening. I can't comment on the food, but they need to try harder in the service department.

“Best experience dining in Boston! Fantastic...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2012

Our first amazing dining experience in Boston. Super hip and cool decor and vibe!
Without reservation they got us in on a Friday night!
Fantastic jazz quartet was playing, just the perfect tempo for dining. It was only $5 per person for the music. Where do you get to hear this quality of jazz for 5 bucks? They even sang me a soulful happy birthday!
Four of us ate and every dish was beyond our expectations. Cheers to the chef and the awesome wait staff. The cocktails were to die for! High quality food, probably the best we had in Boston. A modern twist on soul food with sweet surprises in preparation and texture.

So fun to go with a few friends or your mate! Enjoy!

“Southern comfort classics and jazz in the heart of Boston...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

My wife and I just visited Darryl's Corner Bar and Kitchen this past Friday and were very impressed with the changes and improvements made by Darryl Settles and his team. There have been many positive changes made since this place was Bob the Chef's like an expanded bar, an innovative and exciting cocktail menu, a centralized performance area, a hip jazz club decor, a stream lined menu, and much more. If you like down home southern comfort classics like Fried Chicken, Ribs, Jambalaya, Mac n' cheese, and collard greens, than this is your spot. Plus, practically every night there is live music.
In addition to the food and drink we were really impressed with the service; from the front of house staff that checked our coats and seated us, our waitress, and even Darryl himself who stopped by to make sure we were happy. We can't wait to go back!

“Darryl's has it all!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

I just simply keep coming back to Darryl's. Brunched for the first time today. All buffet that will satisfying cravings for traditional breakfast to Cuban black beans and rice. Add to that jazz guitar and vocals and a staff that makes you feel like coming home. Gotta go!
