Nestled between office buildings on a stretch of Beacon Street just steps from the State House this "Deli" offers a wide variety of choices and reasonable prices. They have their "signature sandwiches" which features their specially marinated and prepared chicken served with various accoutrements (pesto, feta cheese, Ceasar salad). You can have your sandwiches with whole wheat or regular wraps. Or on a variety of breads. In addition to sandwiches, they have at least two or three entrees specially prepared daily - Filet of Salmon, Bake Cod, Macaroni and Cheese. And finally, if you want a slice of pizza there are usually two or three types from which to choose. Their shrimp scampi pizza they serve only on Fridays is my favorite. It's worth going into town just for a slice of it. There is often a line but it moves fast. Since you're up on Beacon Hill expect to see a lot of young state house staffers.

This inexpensive gem is located in Boston's Beacon Hill and is directly across the street from the XV luxury-boutique hotel. The High Spot offers a variety of deli sandwiches, pizza, salads and homemade soups. Health-conscious diners can choose from veggie-burgers, humus and falafel wraps. Their reasonable prices attract tourists and very busy office-types alike; e.g. my delicious Black Pastrami sandwich was only $6.99 plus tax! Open for breakfast/lunch Monday thru Friday. Within walking distance to Boston's Old City Hall, the downtown shopping areas and the Freedom Trail.

Bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee. And at a reasonable price too. Nothing fancy but fast and always the same. You could easily pay twice as much for the same thing somewhere else in the city.

After a day of trekking around the Freedom Trail, we wanted something quick and easy without feeling like we needed to dress for dinner and take out a bank loan to eat!
Lots of choices on the menu - the prices were reasonable considering we were in a tourist area. We shared a chicken wrap, a salad and slice of cheese pizza. Would I make a trip to Boston just to eat here? No, but if you are down on Beacon Street (just up the street from the Omni Parker House hotel) don't hesitate to stop in for a satisfying, affordable lunch! Disappointed that it wasn't open Saturday morning though.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent and cheap. We had omlettes, potatoes and toast.
