My husband and I had Friday night reservations for this restaurant, and I'm glad we did bc the restaurant was packed! This restaurant offers online reservations, too. The waitstaff was very personable and attentive and the food was quite good. This is a nice restaurant to go to for a romantic dinner, had nice white linen tablecloths and candles on the tables. The downside is that the dining room gets very loud and the tables are pretty close together.

If you are looking for a nice evening in Boston and you don't know where you are going (like us). Make reservations at Sonsies and head to Newbury Street a couple hours before for some great shopping. We went to Sonsies based on the recommendation of a chef friend. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is very warming and the food is spot on. Make sure you order the Parpadella as a side for the table. Fantastic!

This is the only restaurant in Boston that I've visited where they won't accept your out of country (Canadian) Driver's license as acceptable ID. They. Refused to serve a Mimosa to me. Lost my appetite to eat here. It's 2014 - Canadians no longer require a passport to cross the border by land. I'm sure the rest of my friends enjoyed their brunch.

Open air front to Newberry Street, uncrowded bar with bar and four-top seating and a formal dining area. We stopped in to take a break from exploring the back bay area. A couple of beers, cup of clam chowder and a stone fired pizza set the stage for an early dinner. The food was noticeable wonderful and the wait staff was uber friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. When my wife and I were alone the following evening we decided an informal table in the bar area would be a great place to test if the service and food was consistent with the prior experience. It was. We shared an entrée of asparagus ravioli and a large bowl of bouillabaisse.....wonderful and reasonably priced! Highly recommend in a great area of activity and shopping.
