“can't pass up the cannoli”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

Yes, there can be an insanely long line and seem a bit touristy on a weekend night but if you look at it as an adventure, strike up a conversation with others, and are patient then you'll appreciate devouring your delicious cannoli even more. Modern pastry and several other bakeries also deliver yummy treats (and often fill the cannoli when you order) but our family returns to Mike's time after time for years. We even carefully transport the cannoli in our carryon bags to fly back out West!

Dislike: The line!
Like: Everything else. Good service, tremendous food. I loved getting a picture of my boys holding their first Mike's Pastry Box!

“Yummy.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

there will be a huge line - so walk past the line and once inside you will see there are actually about 4 lines forming at the counter. From there it should only take you 5-10 minutes to get your Amaretto Cannelonni which is to die for. Definitely a taste of Italy.

“There's a reason you see those white takeout boxes all over town!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2012

This is the first review I’ve written of something I didn’t actually see. I was there, mind you, I just couldn’t see much of the interior of this famous Boston landmark because of all the people all around me. I eventually got to see one pastry case when we finally placed our order. It helped that they’ve placed labeled photos of their various varieties of cannoli up high so you can see them, even if you can’t see the actual delicacies. I usually find cannoli kinda heavy and not my favorite dessert, but these were amazing and well worth the effort. We also purchased a few cookies, which were good as well. If you’re going to have dinner in the North End (and I highly recommend you do), skip dessert and come here. It will likely be less expensive, plus you’ll get to experience another Beantown gem. The popularity of Mike’s was evidenced by the fact that we saw the shop’s signature white carryout boxes all over town and at the airport.

“CANNOLI!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2012

Wow! Best bakery in town! "football" cannoli in a wide variety of flavors. Kids get cupcakes and love them. Coffee is good too. Not a lot of space to eat inside, but there are parks at either end of Hanover to enjoy your goods :)
