“Not just your average park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

Balboa Park is huge and full of all kinds of activities. There are carousel for the kids to ride, an atrium full of exoctic plans, a coy pond and fountain for the kids to see. An artists' market has all kinds of little shops and artists demonstating. The amphitheater and gazebo is fun place to take pictures in and watch brides come and go to get their portraits done. The kids and adults loved climbing through the huge trees outside the atrium and garden. So much more to do! On beautiful days, parking is at a premium. Just keep driving around the parking lots...one will open up.

“Beautiful park in the heart of the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

It's hard not to visit Balboa Park when you're in San Diego as most of the museums are in here. Part of our group were visiting SeaWorld and the Zoo, so we got dropped off here at 8am (most of the museums don't open until 10) so had a good stroll around and found plenty to do and take photos of and it didn't feel like we were killing time. Balboa Park is almost like the lungs of the city and helps contribute to the atmosphere of San Diego - really worth a visit if you're in the city.

A must see on a trip to San Diego. Beautiful landscaping, lots of interesting sites and spectacular museums. Don't pass this by.

“Enjoyed the gardens and the buildings”

It was such an enjoyable day. There is something for everyone. We did not care for the Japanese garden but it is in the process of expanding.
