We just came back from a 5 days spring break vacation, and among all the things that we did (and we did a lot - San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, PetCo Park Ball Game and Fireworks, Gaslamp, Patriot JetBoat, USS Midway, etc.), I have to say that this is definitely the highest note for our vacation. The boat is quite light and quite fast, so it's definitely not a Duffy Boat type of experience which my 12-years-old daughter can handle (a Duffy Boat). They did require that you are at least 16-years-old to drive the speedboat.
I have to caution everyone here that again, the boat is very small and light, so even when the harbor is calm (in general), your boat CAN rock up and down quite a bit. So you really need to be strong to handle the boat (it has the tendency to automatically steer to the right). If you are "kind of" experienced with boating (I do), then you should be OK. If you are, say, indoor (or city) type of girl (like my wife), then you probably don't want to drive the boat. That said, our family did have a wonderful time. The close encounter with Seals and USS Midway is extremely awesome! Our guide Nick also did a great job (thanks Nick!)More
