My sister's and I spent one night in San Diego for a quick vacation, and we chose the Omni because the location was convenient, and it was one of the least expensive of the "nicer" hotels. Overall, we were satisfied...
-Beautiful hotel--modern decor and high class atmosphere.
-Great location! Close to the trendy Gas Lamp District, light rail, and other downtown attractions.
-Wonderful staff--they were more than happy to help with all of our requests, and couldn't have been nicer.
-Very clean, comfortable rooms--nice beds and a choice of pillows.
-Gorgeous pool and hot tub--and we were the only ones in it!
-There was no privacy in the bathroom!!!! The hotel has installed a trendy Japanese sliding door in the guest room's bathroom, but it didn't cover properly! The door was literally smaller than the hole in the wall it was supposed to cover! There was about 2 inches of space between the wall and the door! You would get more privacy in a public bathroom stall. Also, the door does nothing to muffle the noise between the bath and the room, which can be awkward.
For the most part, this is a great hotel, but they MUST replace the bathroom doors! It's just too unpleasant. Except for that problem, we really enjoyed our stay there--but I wouldn't go back unless I knew they had replaced the doors!
