I love churrascarias in all their incarnations. I expected more from this one in the Gaslamp district of San Diego, not far from the US Grant hotel. It was between Average and Very Good. So, I gave it 4. Service was good, so was the buffet with many choices, but meat was just OK. And I always go for the meat. I’ll give it one more try next time

Come with an appetite! Meat meat and more meat roasted on an open fire. There are so many options that your meal can’t fail. Even for non meat eaters, the salad bar and hot sides are wonderful. Great wine selection and full bar.

Two for lunch was USD 80.00 without alcohol. Comfortable dining and open kitchen.

We wanted a local restaurant and came with an appetite. The salad bar is fantastic and would be a meal in and of itself with fresh tasty choices. We were offered a bounty of protein selections that were great. The service was excellent. I think the exceptional salad bar sets this steakhouse apart and is worth a visit.

My husband and I had lunch at Rei Do Gado last week. The salad bar is outstanding in its variety and is well worth the price just by itself. We opted for the special, which included choices of Brazilian barbecued meats. Our favorite was the succulent Picanha. We had a slice each of the Beef Short Rib and it was extremely dry and gristly, but that was our only beef, pardon the pun. Oh, and the Cheese Bread Puffs -- give me more! Overall, this is a great place for a special and noteworthy lunch.

We visited Saturday night, it was busy and we had a wait before a table was available... impressive appearance, fine building with grand piano player, etc...

The young lady Maitre'd was friendly, efficient and well organised. The bar is impressive and the bar man was professional and courteous, very good!

Then we were shown to our table... explained to us how it works, waiters walk around with skewers off the barbecue and cut off meat to your plate... starter buffet was decent, then we waited 15 mins for plates and after asking twice we got them. The meat started to arrive via a somewhat mediocre service, the servers all seemed miserable, some of the meat was good/decent, some of it was awful.

Certainly nothing near what you might expect for almost $60 each, just for the food! After the meal we felt over-charged, for the first time in 10 nights of dining out in California...
