What a beautiful tribute to our fallen military members.

Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery is an amazing place to visit. The grounds overlook the Pacific Ocean on one side of Point Loma and the entrance to San Diego Bay on the other side of Point Loma. It's a great place to go to reflect on the sacrifices countless veterans have made for their country. I recommend attending the Memorial Day services, if at all possible.

The only draw back is that there's little parking, little information to tell you where you can drive. Or if you don't have a car you can take the bus. I rode my bike out there... it was very peaceful.

No signs to inform you what you can see... like the Naval Air Station on Coronado and the Submarine Base that's right in front of you... but no signs to inform anyone.

Went to visit this beautiful military cemetery overlooking San Diego Harbor and the Pacific Ocean hoping to find the grave of my husband's uncle. With a little help from the visitor center personnel, I found it with no trouble at all, which was amazing to me considering there are over 100,000 people buried there. It is beautifully landscaped and given tender loving care by those who work there. There happened to be a burial in progress during my visit, so I tried to stay out of the way to be respectful of the family's privacy. This is a very special resting place for those who served their country. Most of the people buried here were Navy, but there are also members of the other armed services resting here, along with their family members.
