This is one of the most spectacular natural spots in the San Diego region. Located on the South Eastern tip of Point Loma the views span from downtown, the entire Coronado island, silver-strand to IB and lovely Tijuana. Most of the time you can also see the three Islas Coronados of the coast of Mexico. I've come here several times to visit the graves of family members. The groundskeepers do a great job keeping this place in tip-top shape; this past December there were wreaths on every grave.

On your way to Cabrillo National Monument you will pass by the Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery that spreads across both sides of the road with fantastic views of both the Pacific Ocean and the San Diego Bay. Birds also like to hang out on this space. As with any national cemetery, the matching headstones appear to be standing in formation -- and during the Xmas season each one is decorated with an identical green wreath.

We stopped here on our way to the Cabrillo Memorial. Whether you have served in the military, or have family that is, or has, or haven't, this is a very somber place, and will take your breath away.

Very dignified and proper location to honor the departed veterans. Graveyard is well maintained. The view east across San Diego Bay towards downtown, or west out to sea is incredible.

We recently participated in placing wreaths on the graves of Veterans as part of a Christmas ceremony. It is always very touching to visit this cemetery as it is a great example of the sacrifice that our fighting forces have made to keep this country free.
