Amazing meal! Lobster bisque was wonderful. Justin was our waiter - perfect level of service. Can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderfully delightful dinner with great service from the very accommodating staff. Portions are large, well prepared and tasty. Parking can be tricky! Great view of the city lights with a warmly decorated setting.
We were in town for a conference and booked here based on reviews. The view of the bay is spectacular. The menu is big and we picked from chef Deborah's plates and were very pleased. The scallops were tasty and beautifully presented, as was the ahi tuna. Our server, Robert, was very attentive. This is a well run restaurant, we would return.
We came up from Mexico for our anniversary and part of the surprise for the weekend was taking my wife to Island Prime (she's originally a San Diego girl and always mentioned Island Prime). So, I surprised her with a late night dinner.
IP lives up to it's reputation on all levels. An incredible steak dinner and waterfront nighttime view of the San Diego skyline and harbor. But, I wanted to give a special shout-out to our waiter Enrique who totally enhanced the whole event with great service and personality. He even cautioned us on two occasions when our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and told us we were ordering too much... as we were not aware the portions were so large! Even then, we still couldn't finish all our food (and have leftover to feast on in our hotel frig this morning!). Thanks for the great evening, Island Prime. And special mil gracias por todo, Enrique. Buen hecho!
The location of restaurant is set on the water front which was really pretty, as well you can see the wonderful San Diego Skyline.
There were only a couple of things, that I could praise about the dinner at Island Prime on Thanksgiving. There was a set menu for Thanksgiving, instead of their normal menu.
Dinner Price $54.95
Tanger - Endive & Watercress Salad
Butternut Squash Soup
Salad of Organic Baby Greens
Free Range Turkey
Roasted Acron Squash
Grilled Pork Chop
Flat Iron Shank
Chocolate Pecan Tart
Spiced Pumpkin Pie
Mascarpone Apple Crumb Cheesecake
Our server Crystal was very WONDERFUL and has the best personality.
First came the bread which was very good and warm, then it went all down hill from there.
First course - we had the organic baby greens, just a normal typical salad and very rich balsamic vinaigrette.
Second Course - Volcano Cut Lamb Shank - Chili Rubbed Braised Flat Iron Steak - Center Cut Filet Mignon
Lamb Shank was very salty and I only could endure half of it. The polenta and greens saved my stomach from starving.
Chili Rubbed Braised Flat Iron Steak - was plain and very not enjoyable to eat.
Filet Mignon - was the only saving grace
Dessert - Chocolate Pecan Tart, to sweet to eat - Spiced Pumpkin Pie was boring and plain and the Mascarpone Apple Crumb Cheesecake was hard as a rock, I guess they did not take them out of the freezer.
Forgot to mention one our drinks came out and the glass was cracked.
Ambiance was nice, we had outdoor seating and the weather cooperated during Thanksgiving. With the night time San Diego Skyline lit up, it made very nice setting.
Besides our server Crystal being very exceptional and where the restaurant was located on the waterfront, it would of got a one rating instead of a two. For nice meal look elsewhere, but a nice romantic setting you can't go wrong.
