We stayed in a Prado Suite, their smallest suite at 1,000 sq. ft. It's actually two regular hotel rooms with a large double-doorway providing flow between the bedroom and the sitting room areas. The double doors are very thick and heavy and can create a sound as well as a visual barrier between the rooms if closed. Because the Prado Suite created from two rooms, there are two complete bathrooms, closets and dressing areas. If having two bathrooms is important, this is the way to go. We were on the third floor (the top floor and at the same level as the lobby), looking to the northwest through trees and shrubs to the beautiful golf course. A balcony off each room had two comfortable chairs and a table on each balcony for enjoying the fresh air.

The facility was created with a high degree of quality designed into the finishes. Wood, marble and tile abound. The bathroom fixtures are gold plated and mirrors have beveled edges. Doors are very thick, solid wood and very heavy. The adjectives that come to mind in describing this property: opulent, luxurious, sumptuous, palatial, lavish, magnificent and grand. If you're looking for understated, it won't be easy to find here.

There are several dining options, from casual to haute cuisine. We also enjoyed in-room dining that was delivered exactly at the time requested and well presented on a rolling cart with a small floral decoration, proper linens and glassware.

Be aware that this property is somewhat isolated, not within walking distance of anything other that what is on-site. It's about 3-4 miles from the seaside town of Del Mar.

High speed wifi is complimentary for all guests.

Service by the hotel staff is excellent, from housekeeping to table service in the lounges. They definitely work diligently to earn their 5-star rating.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review, which I am sure is much appreciated by the TripAdvisor community. You so wonderfully described our suites and resort grounds. As you mentioned, we enjoy a privileged location away from the hustle and bustle yet close by to the coastal communities of Del Mar and La Jolla. Be sure to try our courtesy car service next time! We look forwarded to welcoming you back with our Forbes Five Star service.

Stayed in a garden suite near the adult pool - really amazing room with perfect bed. Pool amazing - salt water and warm. Good walks. Excellent if a little pricey dinner. Fantastic a la carte breakfast. Will return.

Starting from the pamper that your eyes will be submitted with their almost Tuscan landscape .... the colors, decoration, textures, smells are all well thought through out the resort.
The staff very polite and attentive.
Addison restaurant is superb hands down an amazing experience in flavors and in service.
The little coffee shop is fantastic and great for nibbles.
Amaya restaurant is beautiful looking but the food its not quite there, there was a new chef so maybe she still finding her ground but was accruals disappointing food. But the view, the service and atmosphere was superb.
