Property needs a major overhaul, new approach to customer service. Nothing special at all, a real let down our summer vacation. Used both restaurants, swim bar is major tat and red lobster is expensive for mediocre food

Just don't book here.
The hotel pics do not show what it's really like.
Look at actual visitor pics.
I'm here now & can vouch for the fact that nothing's changed - things are still run down & dirty as of Aug 2017.

Pros:
• All staff have been nice
• Central location
• Vegetation on grounds is pretty

Cons:
• NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL. A dirty 3 at best.
• The actual building is so run down. Looks like a 1970's, dirty, concrete tower block (government housing)
• It's DIRTY EVERYWHERE, especially in rooms. Room carpets, hall carpets, hard surfaces, balconies, anything upholstered (room chairs, benches, ottomans) FULL of dodgy stains. Looks like OLD DIRT-not just the cleaning lady was rushed. The hotel needs to REPLACE stained & torn carpets, chairs, ottomans, etc. Outside sun loungers/chairs covered in bird crap - ALL of them.
• Absolutely RAM PACKED with small kids running riot and screaming around the pool until 10-11pm every night. The pool is super shallow, much smaller in real life & it's so crowded that that loungers lined up around it are so close that they're all touching. So pleasant to have strangers so close that you get their butt in your face as they're forced to wedge in between touching loungers to get on one. Not nice.
The lovely fires you see in hotel pics have 5,000 kids around them - screaming, crying, fighting over smores - just not relaxing. Fires also gas & smell.
• 'Room service' is not proper room service.
Breakfast is prepped at hotel restaurant which is through the pool area and out on jetty for you to go pick up.... No thanks.
• Pool bar restaurant over priced fried 'kid food' - $13 for 5 chicken drumsticks? ('Drummies')
• Haven't been to 'adult restaurant' yet....
• Whatever you pay, your bill will be approx $70-$100 PER DAY higher due to hotel 'activity fee & valet fees'.
• We booked a SUPERIOR QUEEN w/VIEW. It over looked a huge roof top w/thundering AC unit & was filthy. I turned straight around, went down to desk and very nicely told the desk that there was nothing superior about the room & could we please change. Luckily he obliged & put us in a room overlooking the pool which was a bit bigger & had better view.
• Apparently you have to book a SUPERIOR ROOM to get in the tower. Other rooms are ground floor motel looking rooms and seem even shittier than ours in the tower. Make sure you are booking the tower.
• Sitting in cabana by hot tub now and all I can smell is sewage.

I'm so disappointed and let down by this place.
Hyatt-we shouldn't have trusted what I thought was your good reputation. Never again.
This place needs to be gutted.



Until this place is completely rehabbed, give it a miss. If we get home with out bed bugs I'll be surprised.

Sorry to say that this Hyatt is circling the drain. The hotel is looking tired, the carpets have unsightly stains and WORST OF ALL the room service is just about gone. They offer a very limited menu of breakfast and dinner (no lunch) served to you in plastic container (that they claim are eco-friendly) that come in a brown bag - are you kidding! For the price of the room no decent room service? Sorry but this will probably be our last stay here because when we go on vacation we really don't feel like going out to eat. Just want to kick it in the room and pay the crazy room service prices. They do have restaurants on the premise and there are fish eateries along the dock. The bed is also hard as a rock - woke up with aching ribs and back. Pillows are also sad. The ocean view room is beautiful (great sunset) and the WiFi works but that is about all. I was in room 1516 it is above the pool and can hear the splashing and fun all day as well as the airplanes flying into S.D. If you want silence, this is not the room for you. This is probably a great place for families w/kids as there are two water slides and multiple pools. Can hear the kids having fun all day. If this review helps you give me a thumbs up! Thank you.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are noisy as they are above the pools and slides

The suites wing was not nearly as nice as the main hotel... I wish I knew this before booking. Our lobby to catch the elevator to our room always had flys circling, and our own room did as well, things in general looked run down . The location was good and convenience of activities on the bay was nice, but will be Not planning to stay here in the future.

When I checked in the line was long and one person checking in. The manager and an employee where up front see the long line and they did not help. The room was not ready and was advised to wait. Finally I was able to check in and the air condition in my room did not work. They where able to fix it but hours later. I stayed three day and the toilet clogged everyday twice a day. They came an fixed it but what was supposed to be relaxing was stressful.

Cleaning crew was good.

The room smelled moldy. I asked for another room, they did not have another room available.

Even though this can be argued it was an isolated incident, I would never refer any of my friends to this hotel.

The front desk staff, to include the valet parking staff were rude.

At The swim bar restaurant. The staff were always gossiping in front of the customers. Customer service at the swim bar restaurant was lacking. They were more worried about their financial gain ( tips) but not worried about Customer Service.
