We all love this hotel, it is conveniently located in down town area in San Diego.
We booked through America Express, so we got free breakfasts, which was very fancy.
Lots of great restaurants nearby,
overall, it was a great stay.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel right next to the Gaslamp district. Everything in the room was well thought out and staff couldn't do enough to help us out whenever we had a request or query. Definitely deserving of its 5 star rating, they don't make hotels this beautiful anymore!
The only downside is that some of the rooms (including ours) overlook fourth avenue which was loud and dirty. Although it didn't really bother us, if we stayed again I would request a room on the other side of the building.
Everything was fabulous! Loved the style and furnishings in the hotel, the service was absolutely spot on and the breakfast was wonderful.
It was our anniversary, so for a special touch they left us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries which were delicious and such a nice surprise.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!
My wife & spent our 40th wedding anniversary in the US Grant. After a 13 hour flight & 3 hour drive we finally reached the reception.Paulo was very receptive & made an effort to make us feel welcome.Later,Leeann at the concierge patiently made our stay productive.
The hotel is old & well preserved.Live music in the restaurant in the evenings.Complimentary tea & coffee in the lobby in the morning gives a extra touch.
We enjoyed our stay.
We had 2 signature suites for my wife and 4 children. The suites are spacious, nicely decorated with a cavernous shower room.
The service was excellent and Bruce the concierge was really very helpful when we realised that we had left our passports in our previous road trip hotel 3 hours away!!
The Bar serves great cocktails with live music. The lobby is impressive and generally it's an impressive and historic building but it doesn't really have a front door?!?
Thank you for staying with us, nickm0ss. The Signature Suites are perfect for family vacations - and yes, the shower is quite impressive! When driving in, the valet entry is your best front door - complete with our historic portrait of President Grant greeting you as you enter. If out exploring the city and returning by foot, then the 4th Avenue entry and Broadway entry are equally accessible and ensconced in timeless style. Whichever door you opt to enter from, we look forward to welcoming you back!
