“Location was perfect”

We just spent a few days at maurices campground.. the staff were very polite and friendly.. we had an water electric site which was clean, spacious and close to the bathroom.. I don't know if were just lucky with neighbors but we could not believe how quite this place was.. we were playing Yatzee in our pop up at 9pm and felt like our dice was the loudest thing in the campground..almost too quite.. we switched games lol. Having access to the bike trail and the well stocked store right from the campground was awesome. A few little bummers was the shower house.. the only have one for the entire campground so we had to wait one morning for a shower, the shower stalls were small and metered, only 25 cents for about 10 min so not bad just don't forget your quarters or your walking back to your site.. the only other the thing I did not like was when I saw a staff member doing the bathroom cleaning he used just a spray bottle of cleaning solution and a roll of paper towels to do a "quick once over", now to his defense the bathroom was not filthy but definitely could of used more of a cleaning.. other than that no issues.. This is not a resort type of cg.. If you are use to big koa type cg with pools and events every minute then keep looking.. this is a small ma and pop type cg that has a perfect location in cape cod and friendly staff.. we will definitely return to maurices

It is a rustic family vacation! One year when our kids were little (4and 7)my Mom rented a cabin and we stayed in our pop-up...the kids thought the cabin was like the Waldorf Astoria! We go every summer and relish our time. The kids(21 and 17) still get a kick out of paying 25 cents for a shower and for a treat they get a longer one for 35 cents!

The location was perfect for us - right on the 26 mile bike trail, near the ocean and bay beaches and fresh water lakes and downtown Wellfleet. There is a convenience store right on the property which comes in handy for forgotten items, as well as a drive-in and regular theaters and flea market right across the street.
The cottages we stayed in (this is the second year we stayed there) need to be updated - the bed was so creaky and old we kept waking up every time we moved, and two of the burners on the stove didn't work, and had a generally run-down feel to the place. I would rather spend a little more and have at least a decent bed to sleep in.

The good: the campground is sooooo close to the beach. There is a bike path right behind it and you can just walk to the beach. The price is right also.

The bad: pine forest. - you can't have a campfire because of all the dried pine needles, and the ground is super rough, so bring an air mattress.

This is a 100% perfect alternative to a hotel if your on a budget, but if your into woodsy roughing it, then find something else.

(i really liked it!)

We booked this cabin a month or so in advance and got the off season rate of 60.00 a night. When we arrived on location the clerk that was checking us in almost charged us the wrong rate. We had already booked and paid one night as a deposit. After we reminded the clerk that it was still the off season she corrected the price. Also the clerk asked if we wanted to buy a beach pass but neglected to state that it may not be needed this week and that it was not required for all beaches.

The cabin itself was what you would expect for a campground rental. There was some ants in the bathroom but it is a campground. On the plus side there was an AC, Fan and fridge for us along with maid service.

One thing that they do not allow in the whole campground are campfires. So what is the point of camping if you can't sit by the fire at night or cook on one???

In my opinion it was worth the 60.00 off season rate but may not be worth the 95.00 in season rate. If you can't have a campfire in a campground it's not worth it either. Also always make sure the clerk who is checking you in knows what the off season and in season times are.

All in all if we go back again we will be looking for a place that will allow campfires if it has campground in the name.
