There are so few "real" book stores left nowadays, and this one is not to be missed by any book lover visiting the Cape. Hundreds of used books at reasonable prices; it's a joy just to browse and discover.

Faced with the decline in reading throughout America, the small, independent bookstore has gradually become a relic in many towns and cities. Herridge has stayed open and continues to thrive with a small, but dedicated cadre of clients who can find just the right books for their interests. While there are current best sellers available for the purchase, the best buys are used books carefully sorted by subject and shelved on two floors (the basement is a hidden gem, not to be missed!). A short visit can turn into a much longer journey through the shelves overflowing with intriguing titles. Take time to visit, talk with the proprietor and then enjoy your purchases at home or on the beach. You will be back for another visit!

Herridge Books has every book ever written! No, but it seems to have everything you were ever interested in reading and couldn't find. And a lot of books you had no interest in reading until you discovered it on a dusty shelf in the basement right next to the autobiography of Ayn Rand. Rumor has it that people have entered the store and never been heard from again! You, too, may be tempted to hide among the books in the basement, hopeful management forgets about you after they shout "Closing Time!!". What wonders you could discover! Most of Cape Cod has terrible WiFi, electronic, cable, wired, etc. accessibility (good! I'd hate to see towers....or windmills, by the way....in the ocean). And that's a good thing.....a perfect excuse to return to that beloved pastime of yore....READING!! Start at Herridge Books. The staff (one person) is wonderful! Don't wait for a rainy day. Go today....stay the night!!

I went in just to browse and found treasure. The staff was wonderful and was a breath of fresh air. If you dig you will find treasures! Worth a stop for any bibliophile.
