“We didn't see all of it, but what we saw was great!”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Sunday the Met was packed with art lovers from all over the world. People watching almost equalled the art viewing! We were guided through ancient and more modern galleries....and we learned a lot.

“Plan Ahead!”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

The worst thing you can do going to the Met is not planning ahead. Trying to TRULY see EVERYTHING is overwhelming, tiring, frustrating, and virtually impossible. Think about your interests in advance, e.g., medieval armor and ancient egypt. Do a little research to know more about what you are going to see, how it was used, where, when, and why. It can be very exciting to get to know the history of an extremely rare artifact, and then finding it here in person. Do this and you'll have the experience of a lifetime!

“Among the best Museums on earth”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Just pick one or two areas. This encyclopedic collection is a lifetime resource not an attraction to be "done" and crossed off the list. Come often for a short visit and it will be there waiting until you come again.
