This is one of my favorite museums in the whole world....one of the best collections of Modern Art. On level 5 is Van Gogh's Starry Nights....I mean, you can gaze at this masterpiece forever, and all around it are other impressionist masterpieces. And then there is Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that painting....and there are Picasso's and the Sleeping Gypsy by Henri Rousseau, and a huge waterlily board by Monet, and Andy Warhol's Gold Marilyn, Night Windows by Edward Hopper...I mean, I can go on and on and on...so many priceless masterpieces, so many pieces that changed the direction of art. The $25.00 entry fee is worth every penny. Do not miss this museum.

Family had a great time at the MoMA. Get there early and go upstairs to the 5th floor to see Starry Night and other great works before the crowd gets too big to truly appreciate the artwork. Then work your way down to see the modern art on display. Give yourself about 3-4 hours to see everything.

We love stopping here when we are in NYC. There are always new collections to explore along with the favorites that are always in residence. A tip for the impressionists - huge crowds gather around "Starry Night", but there are some beautiful works in that gallery that I think get over looked because of the hype for "Starry Night". Take some time to explore the whole gallery, you'll never get close to "the" picture anyway. It does get crowded, so I recommend going early. Don't bother with coat check, the line is insane for drop off and pick up - just carry your coat. There are plenty of places to eat around the museum, so if the museum restaurants are crowded, just walk a block or two.

I'm not a very artsy person, but I still enjoyed visiting MoMA - it speaks volume at how amazing this museum is. It's a definite must-visit whenever you are in NYC. They have a very large collection of arts and you will always find something interesting here.
