This time there was a special exhibition of Van Dyke's drawing and the relevant paintings. However, I still visited my old favourites, the two Vermeers, and the room with paintings by Gainsboro, Turner, and other old time British painters. The center garden is a beautiful spot to rest between the different exhibit halls. A wonderful, aesthetic and inspiring experience.

This collection represent s the true American spirit that made our nation the best, safest and most equal opportunity place in the world. The legacy is impressive. I am handicapped and had absolutely NO PROBLEM gingerly wheeling around the premises. The staff is TOP NOTCH!

Second visit to the Frick and enjoyed it all over again. Viewing Art without barriers in a beautiful home is a treat. The free audio at the door is a must to help guide you about the artworks and the home. The shop can give you guidance on nearby eateries. Both recommendations I have used have been on point. Ensure you go into the basement if an exhibition is on. Allow 2 hours to enjoy this visit. Outside is a lovely area of New York to walk to a lunch spot.

The art is just half of this magnificent destination. The building itself, completed in 1914, speaks of what the area around Central Park would have been like before they tore down beautiful mansions and replaced them with faceless apartment buildings. So go for the priceless art collection, but also go for a glimpse of old New York.
