“Scott never disappoints...”

Scott is a fountain of knowledge and pizza enthusiasm... and a great tour leader, respected by all the pizza locations he frequents with tours or just for fun. This is an awesome experience for the value and we were tickled that our repeat trip was even better than the first! We learned massive amounts of new stuff and ate at completely different spots!

“Put this on your to-do list!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2012

One word…FUN! No, two words…FUN and YUM! No, wait three words, FUN, YUM, and TON as in “Ton” of laughs! Okay, now I am starting to sound like Dr. Seuss so let me be serious….loved, loved, loved this tour and loved the tour guide Scott even more. What a nice way to spend your afternoon. We filled our bellies, made some new friends, and learned so much about a food that we love to eat! What more could you ask for?!

Have fun!

“Awesome Tour AND great pizza...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

We did the Greenwich Village Pizza Walk last Friday and it was awesome. Scott was a great guide who's knowledge and enthusiasm for pizza and the history behind it made the 3+hrs of the tour fly by. This is definitely something that should be added to your to-do list when visiting NYC.

“Impossible not to enjoy this tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2012

Pizza and a great tour guide - how can you lose? I had taken one of Scott's bus tours back in November with a group of friends. We enjoyed ourselves so thoroughly that my wife and I arranged another tour to NYC - in part to do another Scott's Pizza Tour. This time we did the walking tour and it didn't disappoint. Scott is thoroughly entertaining and very knowledgeable. I can't recommend his tours highly enough.

“NORTH DAKOTA on DA BUS!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

Hi Scott!
We are still talking about your pizza tour of NYC! We have told everyone we know and have been ranting and raving about every moment and every slice.
Okay, for those of you that have stumbled across this on Tripadvisor, like I did while planning our family trip to NYC, read my review and then go straight to Scott's website and book it! Don't hesitate and don't wonder if you're going to like it...just trust me. I'm a trustworthy person, I'm from North Dakota for crying out loud!

Anyway, we met in front of one of New York's most famous pizza places in Little Italy/SoHo, Lombardi's. While waiting for our fearless leader to arrive we wondered what was in store. All of a sudden, Scott appeared and I immediately recognized him from pictures. He was friendly, funny and welcoming. Scott immediately started asking all of us our names and asking questions about our NYC pizza experiences thus far.

Scott is a walking pizza encyclopedia! I'm telling you, I have never met anyone like him. He is not a know-it-all, he is the real deal! It's all from the heart (and stomach!) and he takes you on a pizza joy ride like non other.

Scott took us in the back door of Lombardi's and so right off the bat, you feel like you are a VIP (or VIPP: Very Important Pizza Person!). He took us into the kitchen and told us the entire history of Lombardi's and where the original location used to be, how it came to be in it's current location, the ins and outs with the Lombardi family and anything else you could possibly want to know about the restaurant. But a real treat was being able to actually look inside the pizza oven and see first hand the power and feel the heat of this amazing piece of NYC history.

Scott even took us out back and upstairs to feel the heat of the oven on the floor. Then coming back down the stairs, he showed us inside a little closet where you could see the brick structure of the oven wall. It's crazy how much he knows about all of these buildings and their historical importance as it relates to pizza in the big apple.

As he describes the pizza we are about to receive, his excitement and love for pizza gets more intense! He is timing from the moment he gave the go ahead to start the pizza, to the time it arrives on our table. He has all of us on the edge of our chairs with anticipation!

PIZZA!!! It arrives and we immediately dig in to our slices to see what all the fuss is about. We immediately realize he's correct...it is that good. It's made from simple, fresh ingredients in a really amazing oven and it's different. This is not Domino's...thank God.

From there we walk down the street and get on a yellow school bus! Yes, a for real, old-fashioned, yellow zinger. Driven by a sweet man that has obviously been teamed up with Scott for awhile. They are a team. Scott starts playing silly music, that includes some crazy pizza song and we are all 10 years old again going on a school field trip to our next pizza Heaven!

We went to four different places and at each stop, he knows everything about the history of the business and everything about the pizza. He takes us into each kitchen and we receive VIPP service at every place.

The owners and managers and staff at every place know him, like him and give him full reign. Others look at us like,"Who the heck are they?" You do feel like a VIPP and we were treated that way.

Do yourself and your family a favor and take Scott's tour. It will be a highlight of your trip! Do not miss this opportunity to do something completely fun and get the inside scoop on all the really great places to eat pizza in NYC.

Scott, you better get that agent that I talked with you about...I'm telling you...You need your own show!

Love from North Dakota!
