This is a really pretty park with lots of shade and places to sit and look at the scenery, across to the Lady and Ellis Island....but in the winter and spring it is pretty well under wraps with the lawn areas closed to protect the turf. In the summer and late spring and early fall, this is a great spot to sit, to picnic, to meet and enjoy the scenery and spot of green. Also...great on history here....this is actually where the history of New York City began.
The day we were here it snowed 4 inches....in APRIL!!!!!! No fun.
