Generally this hotel is well located - although in a slightly run down but quiet side street - within 5 minutes of Times Square. The breakfast room is too small but we waited no more than 5 minutes to be seated and the cutlery and crockery is all plastic. Breakfast is not a pleasurable experience merely a chance to get fed and the food is OK! However the biggest disappointment was the much vaunted roof bar. In fact this is operated by a third party and is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. It is not just for residents and plays loud music until 04.00 am. The operators clearly advertise it widely so there are usually lot of people. Rooms on the lower floors are better if you are a light sleeper. Despite all this the hotel has clean well appointed and well serviced rooms and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The concierge will book tickets and generally advise on anything. The location is in the heart of everything and all main attractions are within walking distance except the 9/11 memorial which is at the end of the subway route. All in all not too bad an experience but Marriott need to sort out the roof bar or make it clear on the website.

Room tip: Do not take a room above floor 25.

We spent 4 nights in NYC over Thanksgiving and found this Fairfield to work perfectly for our needs, two adults and two college kids. Located less than a block from the busy Times Square area it had easy access to everything, including the Metro. It's next to the bus station and part of the sidewalk was closed to construction so the street could look a bit dark but we still felt safe. The room wasn't large with 2 double beds but we used it mainly just for sleeping. It was very clean and very well maintained, even the bathroom. The lobby was modern, clean, and had a nice fireplace area to wait. Breakfast was toaster waffles, bacon, muffins, juice, bagels, and eggs. Carb heavy but such a value to have included and you could take it back to your room. The staff was helpful and provided maps to the area with subway stops. NYC is always an expensive trip but Fairfield had one of the better rates and was one of the only ones with breakfast included.

We stayed in the hotel for a week, staff was great, all the services were great, staff is very nice and very helpful. We got a king quiet room with view, room was not very big, but sufficient and clean. Big plus is you can make your own coffee in the room, as we were quite jet legged and up early in the morning before breakfast opened. We travelled with our 2yo, and immediately got baby crib upon arrival. I was little bit worried from the beginning as I read reviews, that there are long lines during breakfast and for elevators but we waited in line only once on Friday, and this peek was excellently managed by the stuff. In elevators you can find a guide what is the best time for breakfast, so I see, that the hotel listens to their customers and tries to navigate them. And the location ... for a family with a baby and stroller bit busy, but a few minute walk to TSQ, top of the rock, Fifth ... Thank you Fairfeld Inn for a pleasant stay, we will definitely come back.

My family and I visited the city for our first time and chose this Marriott property. I am a Marriott rewards member and was pleased with this hotel. It is clean and the staff was friendly. Rooms are small, but I know that in NY, that is expected. Breakfast is decent, but you need to get there before 7:30 am or you will be waiting in line. The location is great as well. It is a few blocks from Times Square and walking distance to many other attractions and the subway. If we ever visit NY City again, we would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel with awesome location. The Port Authority Bus Terminal is just accross the road and Broadway a nice short walk away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also a good and tasty breakfast.
