My family and I (two adults, a 2yo boy and 5yo girl) had a great time at the Intrepid last week. It's MASSIVE, and filled with all kinds of really interesting exhibits, many of which are very hands on, which is great for kids (and grown-ups who like to pretend like kids!!) - you can climb into a space capsule and pretend to work the controls, fly and army medic copter, fire at the enemy with the "big guns", check out the living quarters of the crew and captain, and of course run around the huge flight deck checking out the neat planes and copters, including the Concord, Blue Angels plane, fighter planes, etc. You can also climb up to the navigation towers, check out the huge chains in the anchor room.... practically the whole ship is open to exploration. There's a submarine there too, but we didn't check that out... next time!!

The Intrepid Museum was very interesting. It's worth watching the quick movie at the beginning especially if you have young children who won't want to wait while stopping to read all of the informational plaques along the way. We had to wait in lines a few times but it was New York vacation week. Overall, a great attraction to visit with kids in NYC.

Lots of interesting exhibits for aviophiles. Worth paying the extra for a tour of Concorde. You can get up into the cockpit and sit in the seats.

Many things to see and learn here. Any child (or child at heart) will love to see the planes and the submarine! I enjoyed the videos that they have running inside the Intrepid.

There were a few upsets to me, one being that the tour of the Concord (the fastest passenger jet ever built) was an additional $20 per person so we opted out. Second there was a private function going on in the Intrepid so they had half of the aircraft carrier shut off from the general public.

Other than that I would highly recommend this to al of my friends and family....and you!
