At face value this hotel was everything I expected from a Four Points. Small but clean rooms, very friendly staff, convenient location in Midtown (although note that the area is NOT pretty. Overlooks the Port Authority crowded with nasty people).

What I didn't expect were bed bugs! I woke up on Saturday morning with a few small bug bites but had assumed that it was from being outside the evening before. However, I woke up Sunday morning with even more and clusters of them!! I googled bed bug bites and found tons of photos that matched my bites exactly. When I checked out, the front desk staff was apologetic but not mortified as I would have expected. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that none were in the hotel at the time and that I would receive a phone call as soon as the manager arrived. That was over 24 hours ago and I haven't received a call yet. The front desk insisted that this has never happened before but whether that's true or not, there has to be a first time.

My advice, STAY AWAY! There are PLENTY of other affordable, clean hotels in midtown!

As a concerned operator of a new hotel, we want to be extremely vigilant with respect to all problems, but especially those that involve any alleged infestations. We try to quickly communicate with guests to ascertain what happened, the nature of the complaint, and how to proceed with it's resolution. We personally inspect the room ourselves, as well as have a professional exterminator look for any evidence of infestation, and then respond accordingly. Had we been made aware of the problem during the stay (before the guest checked out), perhaps we could have done a better job of helping them.
We regret that there was not a Senior manager available to handle the situation for this guest at that time. We completed an investigation that independently verified that despite the guest's experience and the bites and welts that were on their arms, that no infestation of any kind was discovered inside the room, it's furniture or bedding. We will continue to remain alert and aggressive in responding to this type of incident because something like this certainly can occur in any hotel. After all our ultimate goal is to provide a safe clean worry free environment for our guests, that will bring them back to us again and again.

The 1st time we had gone to NY, we had stayed in N.J. It was far and took us over 90 min. to get to NY. This time we searched all travel engines and with Expedia, we found this hotel at $155/night for 4.

The room was small with 2 double beds; the matresses were quite soft. The bathroom was ok, with only a shower, no bath. The only thing missing was a counter to put our stuff. There was none.

Not a great view but who cares, we were not there to be inside all day. We were there to shower, change and sleep.

The handy man was super nice.

But the main thing with this place is where it is situated. A few blocks from Time Square. Subway at the corner. We were very happy with that.

Parking is $24 per day. Not expensive for parking in NY.

Overall, we would have liked to have a bigger room but all in all, it was a great place to stay. In itself, it was quiet but early mornings, outside, there was some noise.

Hotel staff was nice as well.

I booked this room with Hotwire without knowing if it will have one or two beds, of course it only had one King size bed, so the check in person gave us the room with a chaise loungue. Of course the Bed was so big and comfy that my cousin and I borth slept on it, plenty of room to spare.

The hotel was very close to the Subway station, and only a short walk to Times Square. People who whine about how far Times Squre are too lazy, why are you even traveling? And I didn't even notice the Parole office until I read about it here after the fact, it's fine.

I would stay here again.

Dont be put off by the parole center or XXX shops a block up, its perfectly safe.

Stayed here under for $159 a night which was the cheapest in the city. Arrived at check-in around 8am and was offered the room on the spot, was given a room facing the side building so went back to get a room to face the front, and thank heavens I did. Staff at front desk were very helpful and she wasn't over the top like some hotels can be. Room is not huge, but for a Solo traveler it was the perfect size. Bed was the most comfortable thing I have came across from hotels I have been to, and they even leave details for those who even want to purchase that bed type! Excellent TV and free bottled water is just one of the small things that make this place great. Every day during housekeeping they gave me a new one! Free wifi also, had no issues with it. Try and get a really high room to avoid noise, but you can faintly hear the subway trains via the aircon unit, only if you go close to it, but its NYC after all! Bathroom was new and clean, although shower pressure was one of the let-downs. No pressure and not much water comes out, so you really need to have long showers to make use of it. I was here for 5 days and after a 30hr trek from Australia and arriving at 8am, it would have been nice to have a relaxing shower. Subway is at the top of the street which was only a 30second walk away and this is one big stop that provides connections to everywhere.

Pity they dont offer this hotel on expedia with flight+hotel for cheap rates, but I will be back!

We stayed here for our first trip to NYC over the 4th of July weekend. The hotel is clean and nice and the bed and pillows are super comfy.

The hotel is very close to Times Square and within walking distance to Rockefeller Center (if you don't mind a good walk). It is very convenient to many restaurants, cafes, diners, drugstores, and souvenir shops. We asked for a room on a high floor and were given one on the 23rd floor. The view of the skyline was nice and we were able to see the fireworks over the Hudson river from our window!

I would stay here again if I wanted to stay in the hustle and bustle of everything because it was a great value; although if I do go back to NYC then I'd probably choose a quieter area like Greenwich Village or near Central Park since I've already done the Times Square thing.

My only complaint: when we were checking out, the conceirge offered to get us a cab. Much to my surprise, it was a town car NOT a cab. The fare was going to be $45 to LaGuardia! When we arrived in NYC we took a cab to the hotel from the airport and it was only about $30 or maybe less. I told them we would like a regular cab, the conceirge "negotiated" the fare and we ended up paying $40 before tip. I wish I had just said no and gotten a cab. I don't care about the extra money, but its the principle!! I felt like I was being nickel and dimed! Beware....just say "no, I'll get my own cab" or be very specific that you want a REGULAR cab. A town car is not worth the extra $10-20!

Other than that, its a wonderful place to stay!

I thought that this Sheraton was really just a little gem in the heart of the city. It was very clean and the rooms were immaculate. It was extremely hot in the city ( nearly 100) and the air conditioning worked fabulous! The room was a total pleasure. I thought that the rooms and the bathrooms were on the small side but I would stay here again. They even have a great little restraurant in the hotel tath serves a deiicious breakfast.

The location is great but it is right next door to the New York Parole Department adb acriss teh street from the Port Authority. It did not bother me at all. I felt safe walking around the area.

One more item...the beds were extremely comfy!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess when you have the New York City Parole Center a block away you should expect a few scary characters hanging out along the street you have to walk back to the hotel on. Not a nice walk when you have your family with you. We also had to wait until 3:45 pm to check in although thier check in time is stated as 3:00. They're excuse was that housekeeping had't cleaned all the rooms yet. They offered no solutions other than to say sorry but after a long flight and cab ride that just didn't cut it.
On the plus side the rooms we're decent and the beds were very comfortable.
