We have just completed our 12 day stay here and the hotel was in a great location and close to lots of places to walk to or get the subway to but away from the busy part of town.Staff were always great and ready to please and would recommend this hotel. Our room was on the smaller side but always clean. There is a new building going up next door so you might want to ask for the quieter side which was given to us but friends were staying on the other side of Chandler and they were not bothered.

Room Tip: Rooms on the right side of hotel.

Very well appointed. Close to many restaurants, etc. Easy to hail taxi's when necessary. Convenience store across street with hot food and all necessary beverages. Church just a few blocks east. Would recommend for people traveling to Manhattan.

Following a sticky, warm room due to a faulty a/c unit at the Evelyn, which the staff tried to remedy with a floor fan, we requested a transfer to a sister hotel. Hotel Chandler was within 3 Street blocks, with availability.
Due to our afternoon having been squandered by attempted a/c repairs, Hotel Chandler staff offered us an upgrade to suite for no additional costs. The room was spacious, brightly lit, and well-kept. We were allowed to spend both night's stay in the suite, avoiding another move.
The staff...front desk, concierge, bell-men, maid-service; proved to be friendly, attentive and well versed in the surrounding neighborhood.
The stay at the Chandler made our NYC experience that much more enjoyable. Looking forward to returning.

Dear paco2002

Thank you so much for providing your review. I am happy to see that you had a nice stay and although your visit started not in the best terms, our team did a good job and made your stay with us a memorable one. The satisfaction and comfort of our customers is definitely our priority so if there is a suite available and especially when our guest had gone through a bad experience, we see no reason not to turn things around. Thank you again for your nice words. We are looking forward to see you again!

First time I stayed at this hotel, it was nice, quiet and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a very good location. The only downfall when I first arrivd it was around 1:30AM and the hotel looked a bit dark inside, I thought I was at a wrong location plus I didnt see a sign that said "Hotel Chandler" I usually stay at Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn and the names of those hotels are clearly displayed and the lobby is usually very well lit. That threw me off a bit but overall it was a nice stay.

A nice, clean hotel with friendly attentive staff. Large modern bathroom was appreciated Location is very close to Empire State Building and only a short walk up to Grand Central/Bryant Park area. There is a restaurant on site but we didn't eat there because there are so many other options in the city. Free coffee and Tea in the lobby

Starting with the positives. The hotel was perfectly located very close to Empire State and subway if needed.

The hotel was very clean, nice decor, nice room and friendly staff. There was free water, tea and coffee in the lobby too.

No breakfast included but there was a great deli over the road that served fresh bagels!

As celebrating my partners 40th, I wanted to make it special by booking a limousine to pick us up from the airport to take us to hotel chandler. Although it was slightly more money booking through concierge and using the hotel service, I thought this would be more reliable than using another company. There was no limousine when we arrived in Newark. We waited almost 2 hours and in this time I had to make several phone calls to the hotel and to the limousine driver himself as well as numerous texts. The texts and phone calls cost me over £60! The limousine driver didn't seem bothered at all! He didn't even have the name of the hotel we were staying at! Very disappointing and turned out to be a very expensive transfer! No money back for the inconvenience.

Overall the staff and hotel was very nice. Mike the front doorman was excellent. always opened the door for us and quickly hailed us a cab each time we needed transportation. Unfortunately our room was much smaller than expected and was very dark. The one window looked out to a fire escape and alley with buildings on all sides so no light was able to reach the room.
