You can't go wrong. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, the room was well-equipped and reasonably sized for NY. Some street noise of course, but blackout drapes worked well and no problems with noise from other rooms. Very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was good and there was always access to the second floor lounge for snacks(generally cookies, fruit, and the fabulous espresso/cappucino machine).Great location, obviously. By the way, if you're looking for casual food, don't overlook the food court and the market in Grand Central Station.

This hotel is superbly located in the centre of Mid-town. My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in one of their Junior Suites. Very roomy and comfortable ( room 706 ). This room is on Madison Ave., so for some it may be a little noisy. But after a day's sightseeing eating and drinking, getting to sleep should not be a problem.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only quibble I would have is with the breakfast arrangements. This is taken on the 2nd floor. Although there is a fair selection of items, seating is the issue here. On several occasions we were left standing around waiting for a table to become vacant. However, there is a notice asking guests to to take advantage of the 14th floor seating area, where breakfast could be taken up to. We did not take this option, as we would often have more than one cup of coffee, and to keep going up and down in the lift for such items seemed pointless. Nonetheless we would stay here again.

Centrally located and easy to walk to most places in Manhattan. Quiet rooms, attentive staff and best of all, coffee/pastries always available. The morning continental breakfast and evening wine and cheese hours are of high quality. The connected restaurant, Madison & Vine is very good. A terrific place to stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors- less street noise.

My wife and I have traveled many times to New York City and decided to do an internet search for a small, intimate "boutique" hotel in a good location. We discovered the Library Hotel and took a chance. We love the hotel---friendly staff, great location, lovely room, nice "continental plus" breakfast, evening wine and cheese and access to the second floor breakfast/wine and cheese room when waiting for our taxi to the airport after a long morning of walking about town. There is a nice top floor bar and roof garden. The queen deluxe room is lovely and the amenities are first class. The staff is very friendly, helpful and available. We will stay here again in a future trip.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor (12th) and it was very quiet.

Love coming to New York and this hotel adds to the experience. Size of the room does not deter from the location; close to Grand Central terminal and Airporter bus. Easy access for multiple subway lines and walking everywhere. Perfect selections for breakfast included and afternoon wine & cheese a plus. Staff was very helpful. Spent four nights here for the second time.

I have travelled all over the world and stayed in dozens upon dozens of hotels and this one is second to none. Staff in all areas were stellar. Continental breakfast and wine reception in evening that were included were absolutely perfect to start and finish a day of touring NYC. Location perfect, staff perfect, ambience perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms are themed according to actual library. I stayed on the Religions floor in the New Age room. R...

Having stayed at two other HK properties, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. As usual all of the staff were very welcoming and all of the amentities offered make this a most pleasant place to stay. We booked The Library Hotel based on its location since it best served our needs this trip. Depending on the type you select, the rooms can be very small but we have learned that this seems to be the norm in NYC. Since we don't spend much time in the room, we don't consider this to be a big negative. Any time we go to NYC, I immediately check to see if one of their hotels is conveniently located to where we need to be. You should too. You'll be gald you did.

Room Tip: Street noise can be a factor. Requesting a room that does not face the street con help.
