Good location but definitely not worth the price

First, there is nothing to fault the location - it is in the heart of the Financial District and the green and yellow Subway lines are within a block. Second, the rooms are modern and clean, some with a good view of the surrounding block.

Now here are the negatives. Because the hotel is a tall thin sheet, the top floor is the 31st with only a few rooms per floor; as such, the wait for the lifts can be long, even late at night. The rooms are tiny, which are to be expected - so small that I can barely open my suitcase though is a bit smaller than even such low expectations. The check-in time (1600) is late by New York or any standard but check-out time is still at 1100 (even though I am an IHG “Platinum Elite” every 30m late checkout had to be negotiated as if it really is Wall Street). The noise in the bar was rather loud, but that is not really the hotel’s fault - though “workspace” as advertised it most certainly is not.

If you check out and want them to hold your bags for a few hours, they charge $5 per bag. The nearby Subway stations are not accessible so if one has heavy bags, getting there and away via Subway may not be the best.

Give all this, it is hard to justify the price they charge simply on location. Can stay at a much nicer and larger hotel with a short Subway commute for the same price.

Awesome room. Very clean and cozy. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Restaurant and bar was great too. Great location. Key card access for elevator and front doors after hours made me feel safe. I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone.

We really liked our stay at this boutique hotel. The rooms are smaller than your typical hotel, but it was perfect for me and my 20-year-old daughter. A two double-bed room would have been too small for a family of four, especially with younger kiddos. The built-in shelving is a nice touch. The bathroom barn-style door slides shut (but not all the way, just FYI). The staff were kind and helpful. We also liked the location, across from Trinity Church and an easy walk to other sites in the financial district. One our first full day, we explored the area on foot and only had to pay for lunch. Also, there are plenty of eating spots within 1-2 blocks and a subway stop just outside the front door. I would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding location close to WTC, the financial center of the world. Battery park and many great restaurants including half moon cafe located in the hotel lobby. Many subway station just a few steps away in every direction. Dogs are welcome and the staff loves them.

We stayed 7 nights. Hotel is in a very nice location, a block away from Wall Street and a few steps away from Metro Yellow Line R and W. Lots of other metro stations around. Whole foods supermarket nearby was handy to buy a quick bite or extras. Hotel is clean, well maintained, and everything works well. Servers at the Half Moon hotel restaurant were very polite, helpful and caring. Food was good - happy hour from noon to 7.00 pm with great prices. No leisure room, air conditioner a bit loud and hard to control temperature. Surprised they charged us extra to keep baggage in storage room a few hours after check out.

Just had a very enjoyable 8 night stay at the hotel. Warm welcome at reception and our double queen room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Beds are very cosy and the shower was great with lovely shampoo, conditioner and body wash on tap.
Highly recommend you eat at the small restaurant downstairs in the hotel. Excellent value for money with very tasty food ,check out their extended Happy Hour. Great friendly service from Finn and company.
Good places to eat just around the corner from the hotel too and well located for the Subway for easy commutes around the city.
We were on the 8th Floor but could hear the rumble of the nearby subway lines during the night….recommend higher floors if you are light sleepers, however this didn’t bother us as we found the hotel to be very quiet.
Wouldn’t hesitate to fully commend all staff at the hotel and we definitely look forward to coming back for a return visit hopefully soon.
